GAY AND HIS VOICE...BLECH!
A year from now Adam Lambert will be fronting Queen in front of 50,000 plus fans selling out stadium shows worldwide. Kris Allen will be playing 90 seat bars in rural Missouri. Adam Lambert will have a Kelly Clarkson career, while Kris Allen will have Taylor Hicks'.
Really, Lambert is already is a big enough performer to front Kiss & Queen. He was obviously right at home with the big boys. Kris Allen (who doesn't write original stuff) can be best described as Kenny Loggins lite. Very lite. So lite he made Keith Urban sound like Joe Cocker on their duet.
Truth is Allison (at 17) has more upside than either of them. She is starting off with a 10 year edge on Lambert, and she has the most unique voice in the history of the competition. Paula Abdul (right for once) said she was perfect for the Janis Joplin biopic.
If Allen is smart he will try to sit on the Country/Pop/Christian fence. He won't sell enough CD's to have a decent career otherwise. And as good as Lambert is, he need a band to front, like Chris Daughtry, who has proven to be one sharp guy. He understood that...

He understood that he was not a solo artist and formed a band with some guys who can write.
The last two shows were the greatest Idol shows ever with 2 notable exceptions.
1. A drunken and used up Rod Stewart absolutely murdered Maggie May. Even at a octave lower than the original he barely got through it. It was very sad. And he's going out on tour? Rod, enough.
2. Even though we now know that Kara Dioguardi has a fantabulous bod. Her ponderous "No Limits" may be the worst song ever performed on the show. "No limits" sounded like a rejected theme song from a 1980's Jerry Bruckheimer (Top Gun) movie. A song so bad, that even fellow judges would not comment. Simon Cowell editorialized enough with his eyebrows to let America know that he thought it sucked. Really sucked. Even Kara's wardrobe malfunction, as fantastic that body is, it could not flush the memory of that god awful song.
I take umbrage with Randy and Simon's constant reminders that Idol is a singing competition. Of course Idol is specifically cast show that is actually a popularity contest with some singing. But it still is a great show!
Prediction: 1 year from now Adam Lambert will be fronting Queen, release 2 CD's and then star in a Broadway Show. I think Queen/Kiss should tour together and let Lambert front both bands (I'll bet Gene Simmons is already working on it). Mush like George Clinton did with Parliament/Funkadellics. Clinton was a genius who managed to front 2 bands with 2 different record companies at the same time.
If Adam had won, he wouldn't have been able to do as he wanted. He would have had to stick to what the American Idol people wanted him to do.
He gets more artistic freedom this way.
And notice even some of the people that came into help them said..."Don't do that" Slash was really against it...
But he did sound nice when he didn't do that...
