it influenced my trumpet playing as a kid i listened to everything that had a trumpet or brass instruments in it. tijuana brass was always a fave. stan kenton slightly a different style but awesome brass section. good stuff.timeless in my opinion.

Are you kidding? My mom had several Herb Alpert records and I listened to all of them repeatedly. My favorite tune was 'Casino Royale', the theme to the 1967 film, which was one of my favorites.

It is Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, very big in the 60s and early 70s. I have this LP somewhere in the storage.

I loved their music. The funny thing is that when one of my sons was a preschooler, he had a little record player. We'd go and get used records at thrift stores for him, as he was pretty hard on them. His favorites were anything by Herb Alpert, rather than the kiddy stuff that his younger brother liked. He even had the album Whipped Cream. (grin)
