However, the words are what we think about, relate to, and sometimes swoon over, so the better the lyrics, the more effective the song.
That's not to say, however, that the music doesn't matter, cause no one's going to listen to even the finest of poetry if it's set against the juvenile drum beats of a five year old.
But with some of the nonsensical carefree pop music I listen to for fun, i definetely pay more mind to the music. In fact, i try to ignore the lyrics as much as i can cause they're so dumb lol
