I have no feelings either way. They're just people, the same as me. I don't understand same-sex attraction, and I celebrate my heterosexuality, but to each his [or her] own.

I *neither* gays. How can you love an entire group of people whose only commonality is sexual attraction?

Then I guess your statement is true -- in a tautological sort of way -- that a gay person is "deviated from [being] a straight person..."

Well we aren't *most* cultures. But if you prefer to live 5,000 years in the past, be my guest.
  • JohnnyR... Vitalani 2012/05/05 18:16:22
    JohnnyRudick
We have grown much in 5000 years.
But we seem to always come back to this one truth.
To make a family work properly we need one man and one woman,
This is the optimal for raising well centered children who will grow up and do the same.
Those who are neither all male or female who are attracted to the opposite sex are an aboration and should be ignored for the health of the community.

The human has much experience that should not be ignored,
We always come back to One man and One woman.

    Vitalani
That "truth" is not so. It is an opinion.
There are plenty of wonderful people who have been raised by same sex couples. As well as plenty of perfect f*cked up beyond believe people raised by straight couples. And vice versa.

And no we do not always "come back to one hand and one woman". If that were true then same sex couples wouldn't be living happily together. Personally I believe that if you don't agree with what they are doing you should just keep your nose out of it. It isn't anyone else's business what goes on in another's bedroom.

I do keep my noes out of it. Live and let live is my daily life style.
I am only placing her what I have learned over these 60 some years and yes, we do keep coming back to one man and one woman as the norm. We deviate to what you propose but we keep learning that that is not a workable life style. sorry that facts get in your way.

Facts? Plenty of same sex couples have perfectly "workable" relationships and lives. And posting what you did is NOT keeping your nose out of it. Don't like it? Keep your mouth shut. Lots of things are the "norm" but that doesn't mean that not following everyone else like a mindless sheep is wrong.
  • JohnnyR... Vitalani 2012/05/08 02:16:11
    JohnnyRudick
Again, I am referring to world wide life styles of what is considered the "norm" over thousands of years.

There is no equality of numbers.
Homosexuals are in the extreme minority.
If what you say is true there would be a parity in the numbers.
    There is not.
Sorry if history gets in your way.
  • Vitalani JohnnyR... 2012/05/08 02:17:37 (edited)
    Vitalani
"Norm", WHO CARES? *Norm* is not interchangeable with *right*. Sorry. There are lots of minorities in this world, just because they are minorities doesn't mean anything.

What about history? Sorry, but I'm not living in the past. this is the 21st century, there are all types of different people living all kinds of different ways. Homosexuality may not be the "norm" to you but it is to many others.

I do not recall saying "Bible based Marriage."
I was saying what we come back to over and over throughout history all over the world.

    One man and one woman.

So? Things change as times go on. It used to be common for girls to get married in their teens, sometimes even earlier. At least with same-sex marriage it's between adults and consensual.
  • JohnnyR... Aly Hart 2012/05/08 18:25:03
    JohnnyRudick
    Yes.
And adults use to "give" their young girls in marriage and most of those lasted for life. Not sure which life style is better there.
but we still come down to One Man and One Woman. And yes, at times in History there have been men all over the world who would take on more then one woman. As with Homosexuality this life style did not catch on for very long Historically speaking. It always fell back to One Man and One Woman. This is what preserves the species and the culture is carried along in the current.
