Musicians have been telling candidates to stop endorsing their music during political campaigns for years, as far back as 1984 when Bruce Springsteen poked fun at Ronald Reagan for praising "Born in the U.S.A." But typically, it's Republican candidates who get the call. Now we have to wonder if this 29-song "mixtape" released for President Obama's re-election campaign will ruffle any feathers.

Earlier in the month Obama's campaign began streaming a lengthy playlist on Spotify intended to energize his constituents. It's a strange and scattered list, clearly meant to appeal to a variety of voters. The selection includes alternative "young" bands like Wilco and Arcade Fire, thematic songs like "Roll With the Changes" by REO Speedwagon, and even multiple picks from country duo Sugarland. It's unclear whether he has the express consent of these groups, but no one has complained yet.

Obama's mix tape is awesome. All of the songs were endorsed by the artists, and there is something for everyone on it. Plus, all of the songs have a very positive message!

You probably don't either, so why should he spend every moment of everyday depressed over what cruel and evil people are doing around the world. Who you should be complaining to is the Iranians. Too bad most country artists are in the conservative way of things. I agree about "God Bless America". If only he felt that way about the country and SHOWED it instead of apologizing for how terrible of a country we have been. I am pretty sure that our terrible behavior has helped to take down a dictator or two, Hitler anyone ? Yes we have made errors but who hasn't ? I would say that the good our country has done in this world FAR exceeds the harm we have down. But not according to him !!!!!!!! WE ARE EVIL ! LOOK IN A MIRROR !!!!
