But we call them cell phones nowadays, you Brits are always behind times, Mobile phones are what we used to have in our cars, mainly used by business people, it was tied into the horn which would honk if a call came in while you were away from your car or truck. Had one in my truck then later on had a bag phone.
I'm not sure what a MOBILE is. I have a cell phone that is used for phone calls only. I don't have texting or internet service on it. Is that what your asking?
A mobile is what we Brits and Europeans call a portable phone. You yanks call it a cell phone short for cellular phone. I wouldn't expect you as an American to know what a mobile is as you know virtually nothing of the world outside the United States. Your ignorance except of things American is legendary and a constant source of amusement and amazement to the rest of us.

My favorite author at the moment is Elizabeth Adler. Are you familiar with her? I have always loved the UK, and through Ms. Alden I get to visit places I'll never get to see myself. If you haven't been to America or Hawaii, perhaps you should come here and meet us before judging us.
I gather that is the Brit name for a cell phone and yes I have one. I do not use it for anything other than phone calls. I am not joined at the hip to the phone. When we are out of town it is nice to know we can be reached and if not at home and important then I can receive a call. I don't text or use it for anything else.
