Hey Jude. When ever I hear this song I just think '60s' and I also think of that picture of Mary Quant with the bobbed hair, mini dress and knee length boots sitting on that chair.
All My Lovin'. As well as it being a superb song, it was also very appropriate during my past relationships, as they were usually long-distance!
My dad's favourite is Here, There, and Everywhere.
Apparently In My Life was voted the greatest pop song ever by Rolling Stone magazine.
I love just about their entire catalog. It is my favorite band of all time. For the past year or so, "Within You and Without You" from Sgt. Pepper has been in my top spot, but it changes often. It's hard with the Beatles. Even just now, I'm thinking it could be Stawberry Fields Forever, She's Leaving Home, The Night Before, No Reply, I'll Be Back, Something...........it just goes on and on.
Yes, I am (almost a "geek") ;-) Ah....."If I Needed Someone". Another excellent Harrisong. Thanks for the memory. Such an underappreciated member of the band. Had to be hard trying to get out there as a song writer when you're in a band with John Lennon and Paul McCartney. But his contribution were among my favorites. If you're ever in Vegas, and get to see their show "Love", you'll be impressed by the time and care given to George. The Cirque De Soleil guy who put the show together was a good friend of his.
Me too......a geek....and proud to be. You're welcome. :) Appreciating George always came easy for me. He was beautiful and dark, inside and out. A real deep-thinker who cared about everyone collectively. If I ever get out to Vegas, I won't miss "Love".
I love the way the song switches tempo, rocks a strong blues rhythm and changes vocal styles and then segues into this one, which repeats previous melodies and is another favorite....
Thanks to a very dear friend and former employer who died recently, the song
"Let It Be"
Has eclipsed the others.
It was his favorite, and he told me long ago that he'd want it played at his funeral.
When he died on Easter of this year, I was devastated.
But I remembered what he'd told me, and even though I couldn't be there, I made sure his sons knew what he told me.
And even so I helped realize one of his final requests. They played the song at his memorial.
Gosh I love the Beatles...

Seems like a good day to revisit this song. I love most of their music, but his one certainly speaks to me today.
Revoulution
