Do you hate the followers instead of friends change? (I have an Idea)

I like the concept of having follower. Some people are just intresting, and they need to get paid for being followed. On the other hand, they should also keep the option to add a friends. friends i would socialize with. Both option would be better.

There is a big diffrence between the two concepts, one cant replace the other.

The change is ridiculous- it's trying to make Sodahead like Twitter.

I think the change of followers may cause many more to leave. First the change of Catagories and now this.

I log on to find myself as a top SH on someone's friend list that I did want to be friends with. I had no choice. No ability to politely decline. All I could do was block. What's up with that? How rude. And who knows on a Blog or Question I might have interacted with this person. Maybe and Maybe not. But it should be my choice.

I go to a person's profile, look at their friends list, check out their questions, blogs and responses BEFORE I will accept them as a friend.

I think blocking is immature with a few necessary exceptions.

If there are already many posts I won't post another.

It reminds me of someone being stalked.

Recently I recieved a "follower" request, the icon was blank (just a shadow), and the subject was "I am following you"; and it's like: And who the f&%& are you?

have you ever thought that it may be someone that actually likes what you have to say? or wants to read more of your questions and blogs? i think of "following" more like subscribing to to one's thoughts, ideas, and discussions. for instance, i really enjoy to cook. if i happen to land on a blog from someone whose really into cooking and food as well, i will most likely "follow" them. this doesn't mean by any means that I am "stalking" them...i simply want more to "hear" more of what they have to say, because it interests me.

When the feeds of the people in question consist of nothing but adding female SHs of any and all political, religious and other kinds of affiliations and their profile is fairly devoid of any personal information, I don't think they're interested in my opinions. Also, one person that I'd rejected several times took advantage of this new option and 'followed' me. I had to end up blocking them.

Raves? More exposure to Post? This is a poor excuse. The same thing was said when you took away the Religious Category, and others. It's lessened the exposure. Trust me.

I think if you will look at all the protests in SH groupies, here and elsewhere, you will see this is a mistake.

I did just discover that a person who requests to be a follower can be cleared. Why I couldn't with the one person I don't know but I'm greatful to be able to clear them now without blocking.

I hate the change, but I must say, all of the questions will become SPAM and SPAM is bad.
