Courtney Love is never one to shy away from voicing her opinions. In fact, she's notorious for speaking her mind even when her thoughts are unsolicited, as was the case when she posted a YouTube video bashing Bruce Springsteen.

In said video, Love calls Springsteen a "nice guy" but says she only lasted an hour and half at his three hour long concert. A back handed compliment if I've ever heard one. She goes on to critique his band and boldly remarks, "…saxophones don't belong in rock & roll." Yowza, tell us what you really think...

Of course, here at SodaHead we want you to be the judge. Do saxophones belong in rock & roll, or is this one of the most ridiculous things you've ever heard? If you disagree with Love, which rock & roll saxophonist is your favorite?

ROLLINGSTONE.COM reports:
Less than a week after Courtney Love helped celebrate the induction of her late husband's band, Nirvana, at the Rock Roll Hall of Fame, the singer ha

Saxophones have been used in bands effectively for years....I love the different tones of baritone, soprano and alto saxes....I do not like junk music which is what prevails across the world unless one attends local symphony or band concerts at the parks in summer to remind one that there was a time when the world was better..Courtney Love????? Give ne a break...This worn out burned out poor sap just needs to go away!

First of all, Courtney Love doesn't belong in rock and roll. She's the Yoko Ono of the nineties. Second of all, saxophones don't belong in rock 90% of the time, but Springsteen definitely does it right.

Courtney Love has killed too many brain cells. Shocking, I know. Saxophones have been part of rock n roll since its inception. There's not much more awesome than experiencing a great jam band with a horn section!

There is not an instrument around that does not belong in rock n roll. It is how these instruments are used that matters; not that they are there at all.

If the Sax does not belong, then what about orchestras? Orchestra background music is very pricey and used often enough.

"Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll or rock 'n' roll) is a genre of popular music originated and evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s, primarily from a combination of African-American genres such as blues, jump blues, jazz, and gospel music, together with Western swing and country music, except without saxophones, which are strictly forbidden from Rock & Roll." ~ An alternate universe

As a matter of fact;'Yes'! Both, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd have produced many songs with the 'Saxophone'. And there are scores more that many people have given no thought to the instruments being played in many songs.

Yeah, dude, I know. That's why I specifically mentioned those two bands.

Maybe you should read my comment again before you call me a "bonehead". Try reading it slower this time.

No longer although they were quite popular in the 60s! Although, thinking about it, whatever would make that crappy "rap crap" sound better would be welcome.... even a saxaphone!

It isn't the instrument. It's the way it's played that makes it rock.

Don't sax players know how to play rock? "Sitting in a cave grooving with a stick" was a song and personifies it quite simply. It isn't the instrument it is the music you make with it.
