It's the followers who are the problem, not the tweeters. The problem is those who hang on with eager, star-struck expressions for the next tweet note from their favorite attention-whore's bathroom break. It's the same people who buy the Star, Enquirer, and People.
No, it's not okay. It's vapid, insipid, pointless, wasteful, and self-denigrating.
Celebrities are human, they enjoy doing what other human's do. It just says to me that they are down to earth people who want to keep in touch, communicate and exercise modern technology just like everybody else. I'm probably the only person in the whole wide world that doesn't tweet or use Facebook
It's what gets them into so much trouble. Better to wait before you release anything to scores of people. The 24-hour rule is probably best! Defeats the purpose of a tweet though.
No one is forced to follow them if they don't like it. Their fans want them to Tweet. I really don't know why people complain so much about celebrities. I find them rather easy to avoid really. I think those who complain so much are the same ones who visit TMZ daily and follow every celebrity on Twitter.
