Do Atheists lack a moral compass?

I don't think that Atheists lack a moral compass at all. Everyone lacks at something because no one on this planet is perfect, and it doesn't matter what you believe in or not. The problem is that Most people, just can't accept others for who they are, thanks to the media, and bad parenting, Americans aren't the only ones that treats people like that. Others don't spread the word of God the right way, see what most people do is they go through the bible and points out all of the bad things that God has done before Jesus was born, and they talk about that stuff in churches, and other places, and some people thinks that God is a bad person because all of the things that they had heard from those people, so that's way some Atheists are the way that they are now. I mean think about it what you went to your boyfriend/girlfriend's house and his/her's father or mother started saying nothing but bad stuff about his/her son/daughter you may think of your boyfriend/girlfriend as a bad person. That the same thing when it comes to spreading the word of God.

Atheists have moral compasses. It's just that Atheists don't belong to a group that tells them what those morals have to be.

The person who wrote the article you read thinks Atheists lack character, etc. 300 million others might feel differently.

Well, first I'll say that I am a Christian. I haven't really met anyone that was an out and out atheist. But sure atheists can have good character, ethics and whatever and just believe that there is not a God. I'll also say that I've seen many Christians with questionable moral compasses and ethics.
