Yes, adored the show as a kid, and in my teens. I used to watch reruns on Nick at Nite and TNN all the time. My whole family watched and talked about the rerun episodes all the time, back in the day. The show was still a hit to us. RIP Mr. Drummond.

Is that what he died from, a stroke? If so very appropriate.

I never cared for Diff'rent Strokes, but I watched him in Maude, which I loved.

What put me off was the domination of it by Gary Coleman.

Anyway, farewell to a "fellow Albertan" (Bain was a Lethbridgite).

As a child I did, when my eyes were wide shut, then as I grew, I came to realize the beginning of the show during the song and title, Mr. Drummond seems like aa pedophille picking up helpless lil black boys, then the scene jumps to him taking them to his penthouse... dunno, it just seems a lil weird now...

I hate all of those 70's-80's 'comedy' shows. They relied on a standard, over-played statement like "What you talkin' about .....". They needed a laugh-track because the show wasn't funny.

Actually Different Strokes had some serious moments to it too where they addressed things like having pride in your family's origins and all.

It wasn't all comedy, but it had plenty of it.

If it weren't for "Diff'rent Strokes", there would've never been "The Facts of Life". Conrad Bain was on "Maude" before "Diff'rent Strokes". R.I.P., Mr. Bain.
