I loved it too! There were hundreds of people there, playing music, selling stuff, doing magic acts and wearing costumes. It was like a festival, I loved it so much! My friend and I qued from 9p.m. and when we got inside we waited for a couple of minutes until midnight because nobody would let anyone else open their book until then. It was a such great community spirit! When we got our books and had to walk past people in the line we thought we were going to be mugged - there were so many people staring longingly at our books - luckily all we got was a few high-fives, waves and a comedic conversation with a guy dressed as Hedwig. I doubt any other book will ever have that big an effect on so many people.

The only midnight premiere I ever went to. They had this sorting hat thing, and the sorting hat put me in Ravenclaw (GO RAVENCLAW!), so I got a blue bracelet that says 'Ravenclaw' on it. It's so pretty! :D

My boyfriend got put in Slytherin though! SLYTHERIN! He's a Ravenclaw I tell you!

i suppose there are more harmful ways to spend your time, (drugs, crime, self-mutilation, etc.) but no way would i be in such desperate straights for anything like that. i'm addicted to the sims, but have never, ever, nnneverrr, rushed to get any expansion pack, stuff pack (and i have them all) or any sims related "stuff".

obviously not because it came out at 9 am in Melbourne. I did however wake up at 5 am to take the tram to Federation Square where they were like having a launch there...it was heaps of fun!!

I started queuing at around 4pm, there were people there from around 9/10am, I wish I had done that now, the queue was so much fun! I thought it would be really boring, I was just going to put up with it because I liked HP so much, I expected the last maybe hour to be fun, and everything else boring, but it was all such good fun. There's just something great about being around people you know feel exactly the same as you!

The movies are pretty amazing, but just look at it this way : the books are beyond long and there's no way they can possibly fit everything into a 2-3 hour movie. So there's sooooo much you're missing out on by just watching the movies. :(

My town went crazy, we had six stores hosting Harry Potter book parties, people of all ages coming dressed up in H.P. attire, the younger kids were having fun, plenty of security at each store just in case, but overall it was a peaceful night.

I, too, haven't seen the Potter movies or read any of the books. I plan to. I waited in line at like 3am with my dad and brother to Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back when it first opened.
