President Carter issued a boycott of those Olympics because of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, , if you were around at that time, did you support his boycott

It seems like that was the only time Carter acted like he had a pair during his entire administration. I would've supported letting him bask in his moment of glory for awhile.

But I probably would have supported it. I would have supported boycotting Beijing in 08, as Chinese citizens were forced out of their homes so that facilities could be built. :P

Carter's intentions were good but I don't think the boycott helped the situation and it did hurt American athletes. I would have sent them to the Olympics with instructions to whip their butts in every category! Carter was good and decent man but he was way too nice to be President. You really do need to play the villain a lot of times as President and he didn't have that in him.
