If these girls are doing something they love why should it matter. It's part of the competition its no different from a sport.

This is very different than an athletic sport in which children use there athletic ability to compete.This is teaching a young child to flaunt themselves and act way beyond there years.It causes these little girls to be conceded and very bratty. Which is the problem today an will be the downfall of society.

All or most little girls played dress up and stuffed bras and played with Mom's makeup. We're we all over the TV and internet being exploited? NO!

In a world that praises, emphasizes, & embraces reality shows, sex, gossip, maligning, & the objectification of girls & women, I personally believe that these type of pageants embrace this worldview & many (not all) of the mothers live vicariously through their daughters' success, not of their minds, but of their bodies and the attention that those bodies get in that environment.

These poor people... Pageants are extremely bizarre events. Are we supposed to be attracted to the children or what..? They have 5 and 6 yearolds dressed like popular sex symbols... What gives.. and how is this Legal..?

Goodness, what brought that on? No child of mine would ever be permitted out of our home indecently dressed. I cannot be responsible for what other mothers do with their children. The little girl isn't disgusting, the mother aiding and abetting the sexualisation of her child is.

I have been working very hard to stop child marriages in various places around the world. Perhaps if you saw some of these little girls forced into marriages and bearing children at ages when they should be playing with dolls, maybe you'd understand where I'm coming from. Right now we're trying to stop a law in Iran which would make marriage legal for girls under 10 years old.

Because they are "toddlers" or very very young. These children are being exposed to adult wishes and media hype over what is truly important. Beauty isn't everything.
