Rumors that Taylor Swift had a breast implants have been swirling for a while, but after Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards the buzz started up once again. Her stunning eggplant Donna Karan Atelier gown accentuated her figure. The low back and peek-a-boo panels on the legs were clearly the focal points of the outfit, but the body-hugging mermaid style emphasized a much curvier figure than usual for the typically very flat-chested Swift.
Experts have been analyzing photos and putting their two cents in on the topic stating that she appears as though she increased from an A cup to a B or C cup (i.e. nothing that drastic to notice.) Apparently, the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer, who recently broke up with One Direction Harry Styles, is on the prowl again. Perhaps the confidence of her new breasts gave her the courage to approach Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper.
According to some reports, Swift asked Jennifer Lawrence to ask her “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star if he wanted to go on a date with the singer. He allegedly turned her down. Yes, I'll concede that tweens and teens are a considerable part of her audience, albeit not the only ones. Don't you think they're going to be influenced by some of the stuff that she does in her regular life, though? If she's so concerned about her influence, she should at least be honest with her "target audience" about how life really is. That makes her disingenuous, not stupid.
The reason I think she's stupid relates to her dating habits, but also is based on this quote she gave on her thoughts about feminism: "I don’t really think about things as guys versus girls. I never have. I was raised by parents who brought me up to think if you work as hard as guys, you can go far in life." Sorry, but that's not what feminism is about. Maybe when she's been in the real world like the rest of the female half of the race who have to compete with men, she'll see the light.
As for her dating habits, they tend to provide her with the material she needs for her music. And I don't think it's fair to let one aspect of a person's life define whether or not they're stupid (well, two aspects, but I'll get to that in a moment). After all, there's more to a woman's life than the people she dates.
And you can't really blame her inability to understand that gender discrimination really is still a problem. In fact, I applaud her anti-us vs. them mentality (as stupidity is the real enemy) and I forgive her idea that hard work is all that is needed, because, as a rich and famous celebrity, she doesn't live in what you call the real world. She has succeeded, and it's very difficult for those who succeed to think of themselves as the lucky minority. She wants to feel like she deserves the success, and to do that, she has to convince herself that it was her hard work that brought it about.
