Paparazzi probably DESERVED it. Those jack wagons get WAY too up close and personal, and make people uncomfortable for the sake of juicy pics. If I were a celeb I'd probably get in trouble for kicking their arse.
No, I'm with Russel on this one. Paparazzo needs to get over his BUTTHURT and not press charges since it was probably his fault for pressing the poor guy's buttons.

There was a time when Russell Brand was getting arrested for a lot more than throwing an iPhone through a window, but lucky for him that's about as rowdy as he's getting these days. The comedian turned himself in to the New Orleans police on Thursday when they issued a warrant for his arrest concerning a frustrated photographer.
According to The Daily Caller, Brand took a paparazzo's iPhone and threw it into a nearby window. TMZ even has photographs of the event, showing brand wrestling the phone from a man in a car in the middle of traffic, and a photo of the window he broke when he threw it. He later tweeted, "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory." A warrant was later taken out for his arrest and the comedian turned himself in -- but do you think Russell Brand deserved to get arrested in the first place?

its damaging private property.
depends on whose perspective i should look at i think...
Who SHOULD be famous? See below...

People who actually get their hands dirty doing good deeds for others instead of only *looking like* they're roughing it in a third world country while the $3M trailer is hiding out of camera-shot.

And just to be clear, that's not condoning or endorsing paparazzi acting like stalkerish a-holes.

1) Celebrities are famous, knew they would be famous, wanted to be famous, and shouldn't have signed up for the job if they didn't want people gawking at them (whether they actually Deserve it or not)
2) Photographers need to remember what happened to Princess Diana and keep a respectful distance
3) High speed chases are not acceptable for EITHER party to participate in
4) See #1 again if in doubt...jeez.
With that out of the way, I also must add that arrest was absolutely NOT necessary. The bills for the window and MAYBE the iPhone of that paparazzo jackass could have easily been mailed to Brand.
Although I'd bet that paparetard got MORE than enough of a check from his "juicy" shots of Brand in the act to replace his iPhone another five or so times. He's just a spoiled brat with a case of butthurt.
