Did music have more heart in it in the 60's 70's and 80's?

I think it did not only the music itself seemed to have more heart in it but the musicians and bands seemed to have put more heart and soul into their music than they do now

The mainstream music back in the 60's, 70's and 80's was just as good as the underground. It's the opposite in today's music; a few good people become popular, but for the most part the real artists get overlooked.

It's hard to say. There was good music in every decade and there was also music that sucked in every decade.

But only in the 60's and half way through the 70's. The rest gave us disco, big hair metal, hip hop rap and other crap.

I think in those eras, most musicians are having true music skill. But many artists in the modern era have quality too.

Yes and No. Every generation has some music that plainly doesn't make sense. Only the good ones stayed around from past generations and the bad ones disappeared (or hopefully are disappearing (90's bubble gum pop and 2000's rap).
