Did Katie Holmes Hint at Divorce in Magazine Interview?

By all accounts, Tom Cruise was blindsided when Katie Holmes filed for divorce just last week. But he must not have been paying attention because there have been a few signs along the way. Holmes even dropped a few hints in an interview with Elle magazine before she filed the divorce papers! See what she tells the mag in the video below!

What were some other hints that Holmes dropped? First of all, she skipped Tom Cruise's “Rock of Ages” movie premiere (although anyone with good taste in movies would have done that.) She was also a no-show at a Friar’s Club roast honoring her soon-to-be ex. And there were other hints that were dropped along the way. In addition to dumping Cruise’s security detail, Holmes allegedly fired Cruise’s daughter Isabella. One of two adopted kids from his first marriage to Nicole Kidman, Isabella had been working at her step-mom’s clothing line.

And as for the Elle magazine interview, while talking about how she felt more comfortable in her own skin now that she’s in her ‘30s, Holmes told the writer, “I'm starting to come into my own. It's like a new phase." A phase that clearly doesn’t include Tom Cruise! But no one knows for sure if Katie was really giving a nod to her future plans during the Elle sit down. What do you think?

Sort of.....it happens to most women when they reach their 30's. They grow up and realize that they don't need to lean on a man and they can be self sufficient. It IS rather empowering for women to understand that with or without a man they can be accomplished and happy. I think honestly, it was more about herself rather than Tom. She is probably sick of living in his shadow or always having him call the shots. She is not the little 20 something girl who married him, but a mother and a woman now and she is rebelling in a way. So more power to her. Ironically all his marriages broke up when his wives reached her age. Perhaps he likes young girls he can control. Who knows....I hate to see any marriage end, but she was in a glass bubble.......maybe now she can be more normal.

You're right about the Elle interview! Nobody knew that Katie meant it literally, as in the divorce. Or people were too busy living their own lives. On a sidenote, I wonder which girl will be Tom Cruise's next Scientology sucker ;P

I imagine there was a lot more going on than the public will ever know. But didn't he do the same thing with his second wife? Supposedly he just up and said they were over and she was devastated. He made her sign papers not to discuss their marriage and never talked to her again. What goes around comes around. And I really like Tom Cruise. His private life is not my business. Nobody but the two of them know what happened behind closed doors.

You think that "old sap" is stupid. I'm sure he and his lawyers had a contingency plan for this before he got married. The man got what he wanted: a young chick, a child he fathered, and great publicity. Negative and Positive both bring news. And, he can afford it. I bet the pre-nup was intense. He's going to be fine!

The fact that she fired Cruise's daughter from her company does not support this "you go girl!" view of her. That just sounds petty. The girl didn't do anything wrong. Or maybe she did and we don't know about it -- that's possible, but somehow I doubt it. Holmes is not a stable person, that much has been clear ever since these two wackos got together. To think she's suddenly become sane is a stretch.

Thank you at least someone else sees it. This young woman has no bearing on Katie Holmes relationship with Tom Cruise and she should not be punished by Ms. Holmes for the issues that caused the marriage to end. She may be in her thirties, but Katie Holmes is acting like a typical immature bitch. I never cared for Tom Cruise anyway, not as an actor, and definitely after he joined the Church of Scientology philosophy on mental health and medication.

I seriously doubt if Mr. Cruise ever realized anything could be wrong. His entire attitude has been: "what woman could possible not want to spend their life with him?" He is too full of himself to notice very much about anyone. These situations in the lives of the rich, famous and deluded are a welcome distraction from the destruction of a Republic, and other life and death stuff so many Americans are concerned with at the moment.

The fact that she said "Tom Cruise" and not Tom or something more personal shows she was already distancing herself from him.

One does not really know how much truth there is to the reports the gossip articles imply but just due to the hollywood lifestyle, it is not a surprise. That any of them survive and have a happy marriage is surprising. The rest of us go through divorce, they just seem to lead the pack. Either way it is hard and sad.

Women in general always indirectly say things, or hint at things, especially if they think it is obvious. Another point about Katie, knowing she is famous and wants to be protected from danger and stalkers, I think recent pictures show 2 different women. There is the rounded slightly pugish nose Katie, and then there is the average looking kind of pointed nose Katie. Which is the real katie, maybe she has left some time ago?

She was definitely with him when they filmed Rock of Ages in Florida last summer. My son worked on the movie during the entire production and Tom and his wife and daughter were there almost every day. They seemed like the perfect family. Something must have happened....BTW he said Cruise was a real professional and a gentleman, and everyone on set liked and respected him. Katie was seen always by his side after filming or watching takes and their daughter was often playing behind the scenes..

~~The New York Daily News & the New York Post reported that Kate was concerned that Scientology sends kids away to a special camp at about Suri's age and they have limited contact with their parents~ the camp is said to 'inject' kids with a truth serum and then give them a "lie detector" test and indoctrinate them to see where they were re incarnated from alien ancestors~ Don't know if that is Scientology protocol~ going to have to google it and see~~ BUT if there is even ONE IOTA of truth to it ~~ I'D BE grabbing my kids and getting the F**K OUTA DODGE~~ Just sayin'

The scandal version the rag-mags sell pillage more money from the trailer trash who ought to be spending what money they have on cleaning up a future for their kids. It was a very strong hint more of a threat really. I believe she will win. Katie is too smart for him.
When the photo of Katie & Suri in white & black outifts was published I knew something was different because Suri was not wearing a million dollars worth of designer clothes. She looked as if she's a normal little girl.
