Probably; Iv'e been a fan of Katie Holmes since me and my ex girlfriend got hooked on Dawson's creek. Tom Cruise seems like a bit of an ass hole so maybe this is best for Katie.

As a woman I say "yes". The fact that the annoucement of their split was soon after the interview, starting a "new phase" in her life would be a thought process she'd have while considering seperarting from her husband. She'll be starting life fresh and new and that usually takes much planning. Both, of which, I personally think she's probably been considering for a long time. I've thought Mr. Cruise strange for a long time. Plus, from what I've read and things he's said in interviews I get the impression he's controlling, opinionated, quarrelsome, and arrogant. Thats' just my view, not facts. I can only imagine the pre-nup had a lengthy "non-disclosure" clause. It's fodder for many weeks of entertainment news. I imagine life will be kind to Ms. Holmes and somewhat less hectic for her when all is said and done. I'm sure many will view this differently, but then that's the point of SodaHead.

Ehhh Nah somebody's on the inside making him look bad :/ Katie Holmes is a rather odd bird I never really cared too much for her. The divorce didn't surprise me at all. I kinda had a feeling she was gonna do this because, her level of selfishness and immaturity for someone who is suppose to be 33 years old tsk....... tsk...... she calls her self a catholic blaH! I laugh at that fact 1st of all Catholic women do not just up and leave their husbands out of the blue it's sinful I know cuz I myself am a Catholic and the fact that she thinks she can just take Suri away well then........ that is his own flesh and blood your just going to ban the poor dear from seeing her father you should be ashamed of yourselF! Secondly, if she knew how passionate Tom is about his religion then, she should have known what she was getting herself into and, the fact that they didn't date first leaves me rather skeptical. But, I have no doubt in the slightest that Tom's feelings for Katie were real because, they were he loved her and she played him for a fool. In my opinion, I just think she wanted to outbeat him on the famefactor so, the whole thing is a publicity stunt she pulled to get people to feel sorry for her disgraceful. No one cares what sadness and pain Tom's going through because, now people think he's the bad guy when, he's really not, he's a kind hearted man who loves his kids and his family and, just wants to be with his daughter.

Do you really think Tom Cruise got be where he is in life by being "fooled" by anyone? I think he will come out just fine when this is all over. I'm sure it was a consideration between him and his lawyers before he and Ms. Holmes ever got married. Like you and I, I think if asked, most people thought the marriage wouldn't last from the begining.

And lest we forget how Tom "blindsided" Nicole when he decided he wanted a divorce - just weeks after they had renewed their wedding vows after 10 years together. He also swooped in for joint custody of their adopted children before she even had a chance to draw breath - karma Tom, karma. As for Katie, well, she just beat you to it, and I for one am glad and if she is courting the media, I wouldn't want to think what kind of pressure she would be under being followed and intimidated by the Church Of Scientology if she had not! - Being beaten at their own game is just a case of sour grapes. I wish Katie and Suri all the luck in the world. Tom - you're the common denominator in all 3 of your marriage failures, that, surely, has got to say something!! - Er, control freak?

She's been hinting at it for years. I am surprised she lasted as long as she did. Most likely she stayed in it for the money and then when she finally figured out Tom was serious about converting mini-me, she decided it was time to hit the bricks.

No, I think individual changes come in any relationship. In the article, she is just expressing that she is evolving as most (healthy) people do.
Tom's extreme focus on his religion is most likely the biggest, single reason. It does not allow any flexibility. (It is dangerous when anyone obsesses over ANY religion. There are beneficial aspects to any religion, but all have been created by human interpretation which causes discrepancies. You can't insist that everyone else think the same way.)

Sounds like it, but who really cares -- besides those personally affected, of course. Divorce is never a nice thing to have and I feel sorry for the families, whether they are celebrities or just plain, common folks, but hey, stuff happens. My knowing all the details of why these people are getting a divorce isn't going to alter a single thing in their relationship. That's only for professionals (counselor types, if consulted) or family or friends, and I rank among neither of those groups.

It seemed inevitable to me, my sons both think Tom is gay. And after reading the comments here, a lot of people think so, too. His first wife even hinted as much. Anyway, Katie is smart for divorcing him, especially since he is so controlling and such a scientology freak.
