Did Judges Rob Manny Pacquaio?

We don't normally cover combat sports here on SodaHead, but there are times when it warrants our attention. Case in point: the big boxing match over the weekend between arguably the best in the world, Manny Pacquiao Vs. contender Timothy Bradley. Much like rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., when "Pacman" fights, everyone watches.

And everyone watched Pacquiao dominate practically the whole fight. While there was a round or two you could give to Bradley, it wasn't like he'd beat the legend in any judges' eyes. How wrong those observers were. Pacquaio lost the fight via split decision, meaning two out of three judges lacked common sense, were blind, or are just completely incompetent.

Whatever the case is with those two judges, Pacquiao lost a fight nearly everyone says he won. People talked about fixing. Many celebrities from Justin Timberlake to 50 Cent called out the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Twitter over the judging. Wikipedia pages were vandalized. Some called it the end of boxing. Bradley first said he'd have to watch the fight to see if he won, and later changed his tune saying he thought he won. Which one is it, dude?

On a humorous note, Pacquaio went missing for awhile before the main event and it turns out, he was still in his street clothes until the end of the Heat-Celtics Game 7. He also needed a treadmill to stretch his calves. And he still ended up dominating. No investigation has been opened on the judging and fans obviously aren't happy. On the bright side, at least Manny Pacquiao's calves were loose! But let's be real: numbers don't lie...

Cheers mate...would've replied sooner but I've been up to the north of Oz buying a car then driving the 20-odd hour drive home!! Glad someone else remembers how badly Fenech was robbed way back when...the game's been dirty for a lot longer than we've been alive but Don "Only in America" King put the final nail in the coffin of the reputation of boxing...while we both may love the sport itself for as long as we live, UFC has now all but cremated what Don King helped to kill IMO...such a bloody shame...

Because rel boxing fans want fairness in the sport. At one time it was the only way out for certain races and honesty on this level is essential to manhood, thats why.

Yes, i believe Manny won that fight but what I'm going to do is ask fight fans to do what I was asked to do myself:
    Rewatch this fight
**Important** Remember boxing is scored by rounds. Not an overall story. You can just barely win 7 rounds and get beaten for 5 and still - you are the winner. You won more of the rounds.
    OK>
Now, when you rewatch this fight do everything possible to remove your bias. Turn off the volume if you must. (so crowd cheers and commentators don't affect you). TRY your best to imagine you don't see the faces or names of either fighter.
    OK.
Okay now, keeping in mind that sometimes the fighter 'going backwards' is actually controlling.
Keep in mind sometimes - yes a solid jab IS worth a 'point' (so to speak) but watch for the other guy binging TWO sneaking body punches in response (not as wow-factor but worth a jab maybe?).
IF you did all these things. You might be very surprised, upon review, Bradley wins FOUR rounds. In fact, I think you can find FIVE.

In fact, I might even say the judge with 115-113 was NOT FAR OFF if you sincerely review this over and over.
BUT I cannot find the win the others gave. I simply cannot find that. I don't believe anyone was 'taking bribes' (possible?) but I t...

Manny won that. Not in spectacular form. Bradley was excellent. But Manny won that fight.

At least based on the stats I saw on the screen as well as testimoninies from those who WERE at the games. I'm not a big pacquiao fan but my family is and well I honestly thought he won. I mean it just didnt match the stats and pacquiao hit a lot of punches in comparison to bradley

Based on this article and other postings concerning Manny, it is my presumption that this loss was political. Opinions, made public, that are politically incorrect, result in real power being shown. It reads as though this is what happened.

the judges should be banned from judging ever again, it was obvious they got money under the table, unfortunately it's a way of life now, no more honesty everything is for sale. like the song says " HONESTY is such a lonely word everyone is so untrue"

If you look at the stats how could Bradley possibly have won? Manny was the rightful winner, he was robbed, I guarantee that years from now if people watch this fight they will think the same thing.

He was robbed and mugged by the judges, I been following boxing for many many years since the times of Ali and Frazier, I know a fix when I see one and the fix was in, for many years I have said that boxing a once glorious sport as been rocked by corruption, this fight cemented my opinion even further, those involved in this want to make as much money on pay per view as possible with Manny and now Timothy Bradley with two crooked judges and one to make it look legit they are banking on people to pony up the money to watch the next fight.
