Did Judges Rob Manny Pacquaio?

We don't normally cover combat sports here on SodaHead, but there are times when it warrants our attention. Case in point: the big boxing match over the weekend between arguably the best in the world, Manny Pacquiao Vs. contender Timothy Bradley. Much like rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., when "Pacman" fights, everyone watches.

And everyone watched Pacquiao dominate practically the whole fight. While there was a round or two you could give to Bradley, it wasn't like he'd beat the legend in any judges' eyes. How wrong those observers were. Pacquaio lost the fight via split decision, meaning two out of three judges lacked common sense, were blind, or are just completely incompetent.

Whatever the case is with those two judges, Pacquiao lost a fight nearly everyone says he won. People talked about fixing. Many celebrities from Justin Timberlake to 50 Cent called out the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Twitter over the judging. Wikipedia pages were vandalized. Some called it the end of boxing. Bradley first said he'd have to watch the fight to see if he won, and later changed his tune saying he thought he won. Which one is it, dude?

On a humorous note, Pacquaio went missing for awhile before the main event and it turns out, he was still in his street clothes until the end of the Heat-Celtics Game 7. He also needed a treadmill to stretch his calves. And he still ended up dominating. No investigation has been opened on the judging and fans obviously aren't happy. On the bright side, at least Manny Pacquiao's calves were loose! But let's be real: numbers don't lie...

The WBO plans to have 5 judges look at the fight & determine if they agree with the decision or not. But, they will not be reversing it, or ruling it a no decision. So, no biggie.

IMO, the Nevada state Athletic commission should be reviewing it.

The judges thought they were judging "The Voice", & not a boxing fight. What a joke!!!

I stopped watching boxing long ago because of the rigging. I only watch UFC where I've never seen any decisions come close to being rigged.

Judging in sports is subjective that is why there are more than one. Two judges found Pacquaio's performance deficient. This is not the first controversy in professional sports and it won't be the last. Get over it.

Maybe they should have scored the fight the way it should have been scored and not by who puts money in their pockets

We've seen fixed fights before, we've seen a LOT of headscratching decisions, but what happened here was ludicrous. The fight was not even close, I scored it 11 rounds to 1, went back rewatched it and thought MAYBE I could give Bradley two-three more, if I was completely biased towards him MAYBE another one. So with a complete bias towards Bradley the fight is 115-113 for Pacquiao, for the other two judges there has to be some foul play, and I hope, with all the money involved, that there's a full thorough investigation, and as Stephen A. Smith and others have pleaded, that people stop paying for PPV Boxing.

Hell, yes! It would be generous to give Bradley even one round. Pacquiao beat him soundly.

Only minutes after my senses and pocketbook were violated with this blatently predetermined fiasco posing as a boxing match, I wrote the promoters saying I would never spend another dime on this former sport turned entertainment only programs.
I have since saw my disgust and comments mirrored almost verbatem. I mourn the death of boxing. This match left no doubt...how sad....

    My thoughts exactly.

I no longer watch the sport my late father and I used to enjoy together because it's such a scam.

There's no doubt in my mind that the bad decision was deliberate so that they can sell the re-match on PPV.

I won't be buying it. Boxing can go to hell. If I want to see a fight, I'll watch MMA. If I want sports entertainment, I'll watch wrestling.

Ever hear the word "the fix"? It means rich bastards bribe judges, or pay scumbags to tamper with the fight itself. PACMAN ROCKS!!!!! He's the best welterweight in the world and always will be! pacquaio and mexican fight

This is why I like MMA over boxing. Few fights go the distance and if they do the judges tend to get it right more often than any boxing judge!

Abso-freaking-lutely they did...one of the worst decisions I've seen in boxing since Jeff Fenech was robbed of a historic fourth world title back in '91 in a farcical draw vs Azumah Nelson...yeah, I think it was that bad a decision...but Manny's a legend, a gentleman & an absolute champion...God help whomever he fights next!!
