Movie critics are far from impressed by "Identity Thief," a new comedy starring Jason Bateman and the breakout star of "Bridesmaids," Melissa McCarthy. But one critic has chosen to get personal, by viciously criticizing McCarthy's weight. Check out the video below to hear his harsh words.
Rex Reed, veteran critic for The New York Observer, slated the film in a review which describes the Academy Award nominated comedienne as a "female hippo," "cacophonous" and "tractor sized." But that's not all: he goes on to call her "a gimmick comedian who has devoted her short career to being obese and obnoxious with equal success."
Other critics have said McCarthy is the highlight of the film; the New York Times called her "the movie's bliss," and "the supernova who burns up this show." So, did Rex Reed's comments go too far?

Focus on the art of acting and delivery and you forget about the package. Even if she weren't funny, she is trying to be successful with more guts than the whining critic.

I think this critic has seen better days and should be let go. He is offensive and a liar. Like a school bully. A true male pig, pun intended.
I did not say what the person said was right, merely that he should be allowed to say it.
Please don't criticise me for your own misinterpretations.
