Debra Messing Files for Divorce From Husband After 11 Years
Debra Messing filed for divorce from husband Daniel Zelman after 10 years together, TMZ reports.
The Emmy winner, 43, cited "irreconcilable differences" in the
documents, filed Tuesday in L.A. County Superior Court. Messing is
asking for joint custody of the couple's 8-year-old son, Roman. She is
also asking Zelman, 44, for spousal and child support.
NBC renews Smash for Season 2; creator to depart
Messing and Zelman, an executive producer on Damages,
met in graduate school and dated for 10 years before marrying in
September 2000. The couple announced their separation last year, but
continued living together after the fact.
After their separation, reports stated that Messing had started dating her Smash co-star Will Chase. Their characters carried on an extramarital affair during Season 1.
