Well, along with F1, Indycar, and other forms of motorsport. Who else would sit through rain to watch an event?

Why wouldn't they? The drivers, pit crews and even sponsors respect the fans and work at giving them a good time and for their money. Unlike so many other so called sports that look at the fans as nothing more than an open wallet.

The most watched sport as well most attended sport in America, even with a bad economy.NASCAR puts class back in sports, honors our military and country and God,and boots the drivers and crews who don't.

Amen and God Bless NASCAR. The sport with the athletes that don't whine and cry about the millions they think they are worth, the sport that will drop a driver for inappropriate behavior, the sport that still conducts a prayer and the National Anthem before each race. God Bless NASCAR.

They do have devoted fans. And yes its a sport.. I drove the petty experience at Atlanta motorspeedway a few years ago...only did a few laps and i was exhausted. And I'm a damn marine... I'm not a big fan....but I watch it once in a while. But football has more fans I think....and no I'm not a football guy at all. But I believe football may have more hardcore fans.

Nope. Anyone who believes that hasn't ever sat in the stands at a Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, or Bruins game. New England sports fans are the most rabid and loyal fans alive.

I'm not a fan of nascar, but there are a lot of very NORMAL people who are fans of the race. I don't get any enjoyment out of watching cars drive around in circles over and over again. I would rather go to a hockey game

Like Jimi said below, Soccer fans by far are more devoted.

This is a video of a football match in Egypt, dozens died because of the violence.

Their fans are pretty devoted, I will say. I am a fan, and I wasted a whole day in front of the TV watching the pre-race show even though I knew there would be no race. I would say the most devoted (or demented) fans are soccer fans. At least NASCAR fans don't set the stands on fire and murder each other over the race. Soccer fans are just crazy.

And there will not be a race today either, beecause it is supposed to rain all day again in Daytona. If they get it in, it will be under the lights. More likely, it will be tomorrow.

absolutely!! Soccer fans routinely get out of control, and it's not unheard of for a death or two when riots start.

When my daughters played weekend tournaments the only time they called a game was due to lightning. They played in pouring rain and mud, and most of the parents stayed for the entire time. The players had a ball, and their parents were dedicated "fans."

    Not even close.

Soccer. That is the only sport their fans regularly kill each other.
