Daniel Radcliffe seems like such a sweet kid when he's rocking the Harry Potter glasses and waving his wand at Death Eaters (maybe not so much in "Equus"), but now that the "Harry Potter" films are through, the 22-year-old actor revealed some shocking insight into his performances. He told Heat magazine that he was completely drunk during some of the scenes.

He explained, "I have a very addictive personality. It was a problem. People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it. It was bad. I don't want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily -- I mean nightly ... I can honestly say I never drank at work on 'Harry Potter' [but] I went into work still drunk. I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes." Unfortunately, he didn't point any out.

Not only that, but he also told The Daily Mirror that he hooked up with "Harry Potter" groupies on occasion. While drunk. He said, "I was always very nervous about the groupie thing. I like to like somebody before I sleep with them ... I have... I mean, that has happened, but generally speaking I've known the person. Apart from a few times when I was drinking." (We'll leave the wand jokes to you.) Do you think these new revelations about Daniel Radcliffe are surprising?

No, I don't think it's a surprise to find another child star screwed up by money and fame. I did hear however that he has completely given it up and good for him.

I am truly surprised!I never thought he was that way, mostly because I based his personality off his character. I have personally learned plenty of times that alot of actors are nothing like their characters.Like if I'm at rehearsal and I watch the main character, I tend to think that's just who they are, but if I hang out with them later on in the production I tend to find out their nothing like that.

I bet hes just saying it for media attention, and the fact its the complete opposite to what harry potter would do. He doesn't want to be a glasses wearing nancy boy wizard anymore, he want to be the bad boy, wearing leather jackets, drinking and he'll probably start riding motorbikes very soon.. lol

He already gave up alcohol for over a year and a half now. And in the end of Harry Potter, he was depicted as a complete bad-ass that jumped off a building with a guy, banged his best friend's sister, rode a flying horse, got himself killed, rode a dragon, killed multiple goblins with that dragon, and then brought himself back to life to ruin someone's bad-ass speech and kill an age old wizard, and to top it off when he had ultimate power, he threw it away because he didn't want anyone to have it.

Way back last summer he confessed in an interview that he stopped drinking alcohol completely after realizing he was drinking too much (so in other words by the time that interview came out he was already sober for nearly a year). He mentioned how he did it a lot back particularily durring filming for the sixth and how he said it was ruining his performance. From that alone i assumed that ment he has been drinking on the set, so when i heared all this new stuff about him being drunk on the set it didnt really surprise me cause i already assumed he did from his earlier interviews. So back then, yeah i was shocked, now not so much

It just goes to show you that he is good at what he does; no one wouldve ever guessed.
But it bothers me quite a bit considering so many kids look up to him, and many of the other Harry Potter cast members; I feel it kind of crushes the image that kids saw of Daniel and may have disappointed them. But he IS a 22 year old man; He can make his own choices and do as he pleases. Just a bit shocking to me O:

Didnt surprise me much tho. It only shows how he's not this quiet and scared celebrity, hes open, he shows that he is who he is and has flaws. Love him.

Isn't he all grown up now, an adult. Makes him old enough to drink anyway.

So does this put him in the realm of Richard Burton,Peter O'Toole,and Christopher Plummer? And let's not forget the stories of Robert Reed being "blitzed" on the set of "The Brady Bunch". As long as the director thought Radcliffe was "delivering the goods, " I see no problem with it.

he is clean now, but he wasn't as the movies were filmed according to this, I heard he got clean after saying he had some problems with overdrinking etc.
