Comedian Dane Cook officially has a sick sense of humor. The 40-year-old comic joked about "The Dark Knight Rises" movie massacre during his stand-up routine last Thursday at Los Angeles' Laugh Factory, The Daily Caller reports -- just a week after the horrific tragedy took place.

"So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie. And I don't know if you've seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap. Yeah, spoiler alert. I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like, 'Ugh, (expletive) shoot me,'" Cook said.

The audience reportedly groaned at first, but then laughed and cheered. But others didn't find it very funny, forcing Cook to apologize on Twitter: "I am devastated by the recent tragedy in Colorado & did not mean to make light of what happened. I made a bad judgment call with my material last night & regret making a joke at such a sensitive time. My heart goes out to all of the families & friends of the victims."

And not only did Cook manage to offend the victims, their family and their friends, he also dissed "Batman" fans: "Dark Knight Rises" currently has a 87 percent fresh rating with critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and 93 percent of fans liked it.

Alright it's NOT as if it's a personal attack. If nothing else, he was poking fun at the MOVIE moreso than the shooting.

And I'm with him. The movie was crap. That makes it even more of a shame people were injured and died during it.

Yep, it's way too soon. I don't think it will ever be acceptable to joke about it. I don't like Hitler and Holocaust jokes either though it was so long ago. There's just a line that really shouldn't be crossed.
