The actual question should be, will alcoholics ever learn? This is a question of sickness, not infamy. I am always amazed, that people hold celebrities in some of their lofty positions. They are treated like they really are not like us, or capable of acting as foolish as the rest of us "normal folk". The real truth is that bad lifestyle choices, are equally as damaging, regardless of fame or perceived worth....Just a thought..

PS..Hope Randy can get it together, or like Johnny, he will be writing prison songs soon enough....

I like where you are coming from except for one thing. Like Tommy Lasorda said in his book drinking is a weakness not a disease or in this case sickness. But setting that aside for now I can't help think about George Jones song CHOICES where he bared his inner self for the things he had done.

I was fortunate enough to realize at an early age that I didn't need alcohol or drugs. I had two uncles, one on each side of the family, that were alcoholics. The doctor said one of them actually starved to death because he drank instead of eating. I have never seen the good side of alcohol and I will never believe there is one. Yes, it may fill the tax coffers but it fills coffins too.

Damn sound outlook, if ever I have heard one. I dont think anyone has danced with alcohol, and come out the winner ( unless death, divorce or sclorosis was the prize). Yea, I am fortunate also, because I never aquired the taste. Had to part with a relationship because of it, and that was enough for me...Just a thought...

If he has diabetes and drinking alcohol then I can tell you the end results. My cousin who was the same age as me died a couple of years ago from diabetes aggravated by alcohol use.
