Running?
What is this madness?!
But seriously, she is something to be saluted. Turning something she loves to do into a help for others is amazing.
This is one of those things i wish i could do, and not only on a physical level, but how selfless she is. That's an amazing goal she has set for herself and she is an amazing woman!

Julie Weiss knows all too well how terrible and deadly cancer is. While she was never diagnosed with cancer, her father was. Tragically, it was pancreatic cancer that ended his life. Now the Santa Monica, California resident is making the ultimate pledge: run 52 marathons in 52 weeks. Why, you ask? To raise money for cancer research.
How does running fit in this story in the first place? Weiss' father passed away just one week before she qualified for the prestigious Boston Marathon. Yes, Weiss realizes 52 weeks equates to one whole calendar year. Yes, we're sure she also knows how hard on the body one marathon can be -- let alone 52. However, from the sound of things, there's definitely no stopping her from her goals.
Weiss, who is a member of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's TEAMHOPE, told KSDK.com "My goal is a million dollars....When people tell me I'm crazy or nuts, it means I'm on the right track and doing something good." So far, Weiss' official website marathongoddess.com has already raised over $100,000 towards her lofty and incredibly inspirational goal.

I hope she stays healthy, it's a hell of a goal to accomplish...In my twenties I did a couple of marathons but they were spaced way apart...I can't imagine doing it weekly...I also did one triathalon each summer and the next day was devoted to sleeping and not getting out of bed...
However, an ex-Marine from West Virginia, Jamie Summerlin, is running across America, 30-40 miles a day, for Wounded Warrior Project.
