You might not have taken "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson for an aspiring rapper, but back in the day, the British actor was very serious about following in Eminem's footsteps.

He admitted to Top of the Pops magazine, "I've got a whole collection of tapes of me rapping from when I was 13! I wanted to be a rapper so there are hundreds and hundreds of tapes. They're very amusing!"

And his biggest influence was none other than the Grammy-winning rapper Eminem. Although, he admits now that being a well-off kid in a London suburb probably didn't give him quite enough street cred to rep his hood like Shady did.

"I was obsessed with Eminem when I was younger," he said. "When he first came out I was about 12 and fanatical about his 'Slim Shady' CD. I think he's a genius ... Most of my rhymes [were] all like, 'I was raised on these streets', which was a complete farce because I was actually raised in quite a nice area of London called Barnes."

And that's not even the best part. Like Eminem's rap group D12, Pattinson had a posse of his own -- Big Tub and the Tappy Cats.

Would you have been able to take R-Patz the rapper seriously, or are you glad he stuck to acting?

I would say no.

All the obssessed fangirls really turned me off with Twilight this and Twilight that or Team Jacob and Team Edward.. I watched the movie the first one it was ok..after that lost interest.

I do like Pattison for humoring Tyra by biting her neck it was cute. Even if there was a possibility of iit bing a skitn(for publicity) or talked over before doing he could of objected to it. But I'm not gaga over them or the movie.

Deffinatly Not. First of all i hate his music/singing and Robert patterson rapping , would be Finger Nails on a chalk bored. He should stick to Acting (Which sucks anyway) He shouldn't punshish the world with his Music.
