Cops Called to Miley Cyrus' House in 'Swatting' Prank: Funny or Deadly?

There was major drama at Miley Cyrus’ house last night. Following a 911 call a little before 7 p.m., police swarmed the pop star’s home in Studio City, California. They arrived at the property -- guns drawn -- in response to reports that the pop singer was the victim of an intruder and that there was a potential hostage situation. The first piece of good news was that the “Hannah Montana” star wasn’t home. And luckily the whole thing turned out to be a hoax.
The bad news is that it appears to be part of a new prank called “Swatting,” in which an anonymous caller reports a fabricated crime. According to officials, the joke can be extremely dangerous because when the police respond to a situation like a home intruder, they consider the circumstances extremely high risk -- hence the drawn guns on arrival.
It seems like the innocent days of Prince Albert in a can and refrigerators running are long gone. These elaborate schemes cost taxpayers money and might just put people’s lives at risk. Just imagine if Miley Cyrus, her fiancée Liam Hemsworth or some unsuspecting staffer was at the residence and had a run-in with the cops in question. I can understand you loving her singing, I can't argue that because we all have different tastes in music.
I have trouble accepting the fact that you're calling her an awesome person only because I know you haven't had a good one on one with her. She could be the most disgusting person on this planet and everything she does in front of the cameras is just an act. I'm not saying that's true, I'm just saying you don't really know.
I also have never seen her act, so I can't comment there, although I don't have high expectations.

Yeah, right. Here's an even better idea. GROW UP! Pranks aren't very funny, and prank calls just waste time and money. Pranks of this scale are harmful to others and should NEVER be done. You might as well have called the police and told them to shoot the person you're pranking. ...

You might as well have called the police and told them to shoot the person you're pranking. In the meantime, you are drawing the police force away from areas where a REAL crime might be happening.
Here's a great prank! Instead of 'Swatting' them, call up your friend and tell them you were thinking of pulling the Swatting prank on them, but then you woke up and realized you were an idiot. Then hang up. They will be confused and relieved and not know which to feel or why. And, to top it all off, you will have actually gained a few points of intelligence in the process.
I guess next time something happens to Dolly (even though that was decades ago) I can report on the event like I was right there.
Do you have evidence the rest of the group knew he was using or is this just supposition?
In any event, if you called in the law after your son saw drug use by the Drummer it was the right move.
