As our latest infographic illustrates, theater attendance is down. That means alternative forms of watching movies are becoming more integral than ever, and at the top of that list is digital streaming, lead by Netflix. Aside from that marketing misstep last year, Netflix's position on the throne has been relatively safe. But now Comcast, the largest cable and Internet service provider in the country, is looking to enter the game.
Comcast will launch Xfinity Streampix this week for $5 a month, and for some Comcast customers who are already signed on with more than one of their services, it will be completely free. However, Netflix will still have more movies available, and is looking to expand its movie library to maintain that edge. It's even securing the rights to stream Weinstein Co. movies like "The Artist" before it hits HBO. Will Netflix continue to be king? Or does Comcast's Xfinity Streampix have it beat?

I'll have to go with Netflix.
Netflex is King!
Comcast offers not only Retro but Turner Classic Movies. I love "The Essentials" on Saturday nights at 8pm. I often watch or dvr them. Drew Barrymore starts this Saturday night as co-host to Robert Osborne. I love the new info I learn on a classic film. It's just my thing.
I also like my history and documentaries, Comcast suits those needs.
Everyone is different and I get it. What I like many others don't, but just as many do.
Different perspectives is what makes life so interesting and absolutely precious.
Netflix had their wheels come off last summer. I get 3 DVD's at a time. They went from $17 a month to $21 a month, to $26 a month in a 6 month period. The CEO needs to be replaced and hasn't. The Customer Service went from A Plus to dismal.
All that said, FANOW they are still the best thing out there. When something comes along that is better, I will bail because of what they did last year. I now have zero loyalty. I think others feel the same way too. But, I am running out of decent flicks to watch. I have seen every 5 star movie, and almost every 4 star movie that they have. I am down to 3 stars. They need fresh meat.
No service is great. Same with cell service. All choices are sub par.
On Indian reservations I call it SELF TERMINATION the very POLICY REPUGNUTZ put together to claim TERMINATION would not OCCUR.
IT RUINED MY PEOPLE and MADE THEM SELFISH and SELF SERVING, PATHOLOGICAL, RUGGED INDIVIDUALISTS.
Much like PatriNUTZ. Much alike the gray melted pot instead of the delicious salad!
