Christian Bale Flies 4-Year-Old With Leukemia to Disneyland, Joins Him for Lunch: Nicest Guy in Hollywood?

Christian Bale is really proving himself to be a real-life superhero. First, he visited victims of the horrific "Dark Knight Rises" shooting over the summer, now he's hanging out with a little boy with cancer.

Last week, the 38-year-old actor flew 4-year-old Jayden Barber, who has been suffering from leukemia, to Disneyland. Then, he joined the young "Batman" fan for lunch, Yahoo! reports.

"Finally can share!!!" Jayden's mother, Charlene Barber, wrote on her Facebook page last Friday, where she also posted photos of the big day. "Christian sent us to LA and we had lunch at Disney club 33 on wed!! He and his family were so awesome and down to earth!!!

"They talked movies and super Heros and he was genuinely happy to hear about everything Jayden wanted to tell him," Barber added. "Christian, his wife and daughter are three of the most beautiful people we have ever met!"

Jayden, who turns 5 on September 17, is reportedly in remission as of this month. Do you think Bale is officially the nicest guy in Hollywood for making time for this cute little fan?

I'd say more like "One of the real people in Hollywood." He's doing fantastic things, but he's also prone to fits of anger like no other. I still think he's amazing, don't get me wrong, because there are many people in and out of Hollywood who won't do anything for anyone. I simply wouldn't slap him with the 'nicest' label yet.

I respect him for visiting victims of the theater shootings in the hospital, and now he does this. It sounds like he genuinely respects his fans and cares for people.

He had anger issues, and he is trying to repair his image. Which, don't get me wrong, is awesome, and a person who tries to improve who insists he is not partially doing it for selfish reasons is what we call a, "Liar". But there's a lot of people in Hollywood. Good for him, and good luck keeping up with this public image consistently. Credit where due, but consistency over time is important.

Oh, I have no doubt that he is a decent person. Most people are. But nicest guy in all of Hollywood? To get that title, I think you need to do this sort of thing consistently for years. I applaud the effort, and I don't even care that there is a selfish motive at play (The biggest saints in the world are at least partially motivated by selfishness). But 2 acts, however awesome, are trumped by a continuous string of good actions, particularly ones that require more of a sacrifice.

Oh absolutely, and that is awesome, and I say good for him. His actions are commendable, and he has earned a lot of respect. But nicest guy in Holywood? The only reason we are talking about Bale is because of what he has just barely done, but Id say that title belongs to someone who has been consistently saintly over the years. He is no less nice for this, but I feel like someone less presently in the spotlight has earned that title more.

Certainly one of the nicest. Melissa Leo starred with him in "The fighter:" (for which they both won Oscars) and she has nothing but high praise for him as a human being as well as an actor.

I would have preferred "Others" as an option. He's done two extremely nice things lately, but he is known for being very abusive to casts and crews on his films, so I don't know if we can go as far as to call him the "nicest guy in Hollywood". I hope he has turned a corner in his maturity and that we'll hear about lots more wonderful things from this genuinely fine actor.
