Christian Bale is really proving himself to be a real-life superhero. First, he visited victims of the horrific "Dark Knight Rises" shooting over the summer, now he's hanging out with a little boy with cancer.

Last week, the 38-year-old actor flew 4-year-old Jayden Barber, who has been suffering from leukemia, to Disneyland. Then, he joined the young "Batman" fan for lunch, Yahoo! reports.

christian bale

"Finally can share!!!" Jayden's mother, Charlene Barber, wrote on her Facebook page last Friday, where she also posted photos of the big day. "Christian sent us to LA and we had lunch at Disney club 33 on wed!! He and his family were so awesome and down to earth!!!

"They talked movies and super Heros and he was genuinely happy to hear about everything Jayden wanted to tell him," Barber added. "Christian, his wife and daughter are three of the most beautiful people we have ever met!"

Jayden, who turns 5 on September 17, is reportedly in remission as of this month. Do you think Bale is officially the nicest guy in Hollywood for making time for this cute little fan?

I'd say more like "One of the real people in Hollywood." He's doing fantastic things, but he's also prone to fits of anger like no other. I still think he's amazing, don't get me wrong, because there are many people in and out of Hollywood who won't do anything for anyone. I simply wouldn't slap him with the 'nicest' label yet.

He really is a good guy. Sure he has anger issues but if you knew about his childhood it's easy to see why. He's been doing all sorts of nice things for people without being paid etc. When I met him he was really cool about making sure everybody got pictures and autographs. He was swarmed and I came running up late when he was about to leave but he stopped leaving when he saw me and asked some questions then gave me an autograph which I thought was pretty cool of him. All in all I thought he was a pretty nice celeb, this confirms it.

I don't know about the nicest guy but Christian has proved himself to be a very
kind human being. I admire his compassion for those who are suffering.
It's refreshing to see an actor like him care about what's going on in the world
and not just about his career. He's a handsome, brilliant actor and he gets a
    thumbs up from me.

Just add him to the list of publicity whores who pick on small ill kids for their stunts - good way to advertise movies etc. Shame on you Mr Bale for being talked into this by your publicist (I'd like to believe that, rather than he is such a pr1ck he thought it up himself).

Charity makes all benefactors look good.

Therefore, by your logic, all charity is bad.

How nice. Christian also does things when people don't ask him to. He visited the people who got shot at the movies watching batman , he goes and does things and doesn't want recognition. He seems a real nice , genuine one of the weird exceptions in Hollywood

And there lies the huge problem....what about all the other kids dying who aren't even in remission??? Who is going to visit them except family. Who is going to fly them around for lunches - nobody that's who. When it suits publicists they send their actors off to do "charitable work" for the publicity...shame on the damn lot of them who have done this - it's a disgusting habit that has taken root in Hollywood.

He proves there are good people in Hollywood, not all full of self There are people there with a heart! Think of the money they could help people with! Like the 5,000,000 dollar weddings, think of the wealth they could spread around, but it is their money and their choice. Keep up the good work Chritian Bale and God Bless you and people like you!

He paid to have the boy flown to Disneyland and had lunch with him. He also visited the victims of the shooting on his own, I believe he is and I'd love to meet him :)

This was a great thing to do. I'm glad to see someone in Hollywood actually making a positive difference, and not acting like the world revolves around himself.

    Kudos to Christian Bale.

Have we already forgotten the outrage over his rant while filming Terminator? A 4 year old's trip isn't going to make that go away.

Nice guy? Maybe, maybe not. NICEST guy? HELL NO

Apparently you haven't forgotten. Even though it was over 3 years ago and he apologized for it.
  • twhitin... jim 2012/09/13 18:14:36

Apologizing for something doesn't make it right. Nor, for that matter does it strike it from someone's history.
  • jim twhitin... 2012/09/13 23:49:06
    jim
So according to your logic, any wrong action, no matter how trivial, completely negates any positive action displayed later. No one said an apology made up for the action. It's a gesture acknowledging wrong doing.
