Christian Bale is really proving himself to be a real-life superhero. First, he visited victims of the horrific "Dark Knight Rises" shooting over the summer, now he's hanging out with a little boy with cancer.

Last week, the 38-year-old actor flew 4-year-old Jayden Barber, who has been suffering from leukemia, to Disneyland. Then, he joined the young "Batman" fan for lunch, Yahoo! reports.

christian bale

"Finally can share!!!" Jayden's mother, Charlene Barber, wrote on her Facebook page last Friday, where she also posted photos of the big day. "Christian sent us to LA and we had lunch at Disney club 33 on wed!! He and his family were so awesome and down to earth!!!

"They talked movies and super Heros and he was genuinely happy to hear about everything Jayden wanted to tell him," Barber added. "Christian, his wife and daughter are three of the most beautiful people we have ever met!"

Jayden, who turns 5 on September 17, is reportedly in remission as of this month. Do you think Bale is officially the nicest guy in Hollywood for making time for this cute little fan?

I'd say more like "One of the real people in Hollywood." He's doing fantastic things, but he's also prone to fits of anger like no other. I still think he's amazing, don't get me wrong, because there are many people in and out of Hollywood who won't do anything for anyone. I simply wouldn't slap him with the 'nicest' label yet.

He looks like Nikola Tesla, and it was important to me as a Serb to be a good actor in Tesla's role

One of them, at least. I know there must be other people in Hollywood who are truly nice people, we just don't hear as much about them as we do those who are misbehaving.

He's human and a regular guy, he just showed some great compassion. We've seen him get angry so he's a normal dude. Still a nice gesture though.

Yes - giving him the benefit of the doubt here. There should have been a 'Maybe' option. What about the people in Hollywood who do their charity stuff quietly, without the need for cameras and media presence? It was undoubtedly a great thing for him to do, but ...

I'm not a big celebrity watcher, but he certainly is a really nice guy. I know what he did after the debacle in Colorado by visiting the wounded in the hospital and now this. It's just awesome to see kindness for a change. But as I said, I'm not a big celebrity watcher so I'm not sure if he comes in first. I know there are others who do plenty, especially donating their time to make appearances they're not required to, so I can't be definitive.
Absolutely awesome thing to do especially bringing his family along again. That means a lot. A nice thing to see.

He has many reported good deeds, and many, many NOT reported ones. Disney Club 33 for those who don't know, has a waiting list to join and is super expensive. Only 487 members, a a 10 year-ish wait to join. Nice that Christian Bale could get in and took this family as well. Super.

I'm a big Christian Bale fan. Not only is he underated as an actor, he is a genuine human being. I read someone elses comment who said that he isn't the nicest guy in Hollywood because he displayed his temper on a movie set. I remember hearing video of his outburst. I'll admit to being biased as I feel that it was just a brief reaction and he was very much focused on his craft at the time...so what; move on. He's not drunk, or on drugs, hasn't run anyone over with a car, blurted racist comments, exposed himself, or forced his family into a religious cult. Confidentially (haha) I always thought he was a better looking version of Tom Cruise. Except Christian Bale is more intense and credible actor.

We don't get to see the many good things the actors do as they do not want the spot light to be taken away from those who they helped. Some times it just happens and they are there for them. Good job Christian.

It just makes him a good guy with a heart. I'm not sure of the correct wording, but in the bible it talks about it being, "...not the rich man that gave a lot, but the poor woman who gave everything...". I think it's awesome that he took the time but the point is he has the time (he's not working a 9-5) and he has the means.

Maybe he doesn't want his daughter to grow up and be like Paris, LiLo, Kim K., etc.

    Very cool none-the-less.

Right now, Chris is number 1 with me! I loved that he took the time and the personal expense of visiting with the victims and hospital staffers after the Aurora movie theater shootings. And now this! Way to show some humanity,Mr. Bale!
