Chris Rock has officially thrown his support behind President Barack Obama's stance on gun control. The superstar comedian joined other celebrities at a Mayors Against Illegal Guns new conference in the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

According to USA Today, Rock urged lawmakers to respond to Obama's agenda and act quickly on firearms legislation, because "The president and the first lady are kind of like the mom and dad of the country. And when your dad says something, you listen."

He also implied that opposing the President's plan could come back to haunt them, by adding "And when you don't it usually bites you ..."

Also in attendance were legendary crooner Tony Bennett, actor Adam Scott, and actresses Amanda Peet and Anna Deavere Smith. Mayors Against Illegal Guns was founded and primarily funded by New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, but apparently 850 mayors have signed on.

Just for the sake of argument, if Obama could be called Americas Dad, he would have to be charged with child endangerment and abuse. When it is illegal for any of us to treat our child in kind, he should not be above the law....Just a thought...
