Chris Klein: The Hot Mess That Just Got Hotter?

In yet another downturn in an increasingly sad life and career, Chris Klein was arrested again on DUI charges.
 
Klein was pulled over early Wednesday morning after police officers observed the actor’s 1999 Chevrolet Blazer weaving across three lanes of traffic on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. When a blood alcohol level test was administered, Klein blew a .20, which is nearly three times the legal limit in California.
 
This is Klein’s second DUI arrest in the last five years. Back in 2005, Klein was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI after his blood alcohol level was, again, measured at .20. He was charged with an $1,800 fine and sentenced to five years probation.
 
Now, with this being a second offense, Klein could be facing jail time. His bail already has been set at $25,000 and, because of California law, Klein may be required to spend a minimum of four days in jail because of the recurring nature of the offense.
 
Klein’s career has faltered since his debut performance in “Election,” back in 1999, and his follow-up success with “American Pie.” Since then, Klein has become more famous for his failed relationships, particularly his broken engagement with Katie Holmes, who married Tom Cruise soon after their split.

More recently, Klein garnered laughing stock status for a notoriously bad audition video for the film version of “Mamma Mia,” which burned its way across the Internet before being yanked by Klein’s handlers.
