YES !! When I went to school the nuns used to "bully me" to death from the 3rd grade to the end of the 6th grade !! My mother & stepfather "encouraged" them all the way !! Freedom came when I went to public school !!

I was bullied elementary through high school. Kindergarden until 11th grade. And then I moved from a class of 100 until 13 students. Just 13. I was called everything from a slut to someone who indulged in incest. You know what? I stopped caring. I stopped making friends. I even make threats to some kids, but others would be right there. Being bullied is no fun.

I sure would like to hear the GOP front runner come clean on his
past as a bully. Everyone that helped can remember Romney cutting
the hair off a crying screaming human. Obama admitted to giving a
girl a shove in his book. Romney supporters think that someone who
was very embarrassed by a gang and a punk with scissors would
run home and tell their family members. We all know that most rapes
    go unreported.

It can affect you for the rest of your life.... I was bullied at one secondary school I attended years ago. Not just by pupils but by teachers, so I left. The next school I attended was so much better. Better teachers better pupils and better education. I have aslo received it in the workplace. Although it is difficult remember the bullies are cowards and wasters. It is usually because they are jealous.

teased, but I wouldn't say bullied. I was always pretty thick skinned as a kid and didn't let thing get me down to bad. Kids are becoming wimps, including mine. I blame the schools.

I was teased often by quite a few people, but I don't think they were horrible enough for me to call it bullying.

By this guy who thought he was so cool and I punched him in the nose. I was only around 7. He kept trying to scare me as well and I just laughed in his face. I've heard he didn't finish high school.

Bullies must be punished very severely. The worst ones should be made to spend some real hard time in disciplinary bootcamps. With pics and videos posted in the media.
They love to humiliate weaker kids, but they would HATE to be humiliated in public. A very good deterrent.

Yeah, I was bullied by one stupid clown in high school when I was 6'3" tall and 165 lbs. What I did to compensate was learn how to operate, maintain and repair precision-guided weapons systems. In retrospect, that might have been JUST a bit overkill. I DID run into the clown at my 15-year reunion some years back when I was 6'4" and 250 lbs. So I took a page from an old Archie comic book and bet him $20 I could give him a black eye without touching him. He was drunk and stupid and took the bet. So I punched his Lights out and decked him right in his eye. Then I paid him the 20. "Oh, I'm sorry. I LOST. Here's your money." Best 20 dollars I EVER spent.

I think we probably all have been bullied in one way or another. However, character is built, at least partially, from such adversity and how you deal with it. There are, of course, different levels and, once the bullying gets past a certain level, it needs to be handled at higher levels, but, some is merely amongst rites of passage.

No, that was addressed in the "once the bullying gets past a certain level, it needs to be handled at higher levels" part of my post.

And in return I either hit back, lashed out at anyone I thought might possibly be about to bully me, and a bunch of other less than flattering reactions on my part. One thing I did learn was talking it out never works. Giving back better then you got does, or at least trying. However make sure it's always by the same mode. If someone is punching you insulting them only gets you punched harder. If someone is insulting you punching them only makes them insult you from a safe distance. Whatever you do smile, even if you just had your teeth knocked out and want to cry, it really does confuse them and makes you appear stronger, which is key. Bullys are kind of like wild animals, they only go for the prey that looks weak.
