Chris Brown Goes on Twitter Rant, Brags About His Grammy: Did He Deserve It?

Chris Brown got a little bit excited about winning his first Grammy on Sunday. While most winners were tweeting their thanks modestly, Chris Brown was holding the award up to his haters. He tweeted, "HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY. Now! That's the ultimate F--- OFF." The 22-year-old must have recognized his error, because the tweet disappeared within 15 minutes. Unfortunately for him, the press is pretty quick.

Brown won the award for Best R & B Album with his latest release, "F.A.M.E." The album beat out releases by R. Kelly, Ledisi, and El DeBarge; and for reference, the most recent winners in this category were John Legend, The Roots, Maxwell, Jennifer Hudson, and Chaka Khan. That seems like an odd place to put the guy behind "Yeah 3X" and "Turn Up the Music," but some people aren't even thinking about the music.

Miranda Lambert, who won her first Grammy last year, tweeted, "Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl... Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys." Actor Wil Wheaton echoed her sentiment: "Everyone who apparently forgot what Chris Brown did to Rihanna should read the police report on exactly what he did." Do you think Chris Brown deserved his Grammy?

I am NOT a huge fan of Chris Brown's behavior, but I am a HUGE fan of Chris Brown's music and his talent. Like him or not, C.B. definitely deserved that Grammy Award. But if I was Chris Brown, I would not have went on Twitter ranting and bragging about my award nor would i have answered to all the haters out there. That Grammy Award should've silenced all the haters.

The Grammy was for his music. His Grammy performance also showed that he's an amazing dancer. Judge the music and talent separately from the person, then he deserves the Grammy. I'm not saying he should just be forgiven, but give his music a chance.

Yes, the young man is an excellent lip-syncing dancer! He deserves a little gold statue, huge promotions, appearances on SNL or Grammy stages and he....

If a girl hits me and I can't get away from her, there is a point when she's going to get it. Turning her face into hamburger and choking her damn near out is WAY over the line. This fellow should have been in jail until now....but the famous get kid gloves when it comes to the law.
Chris is a cocky, rude 22 year old with an oversized head. Obviously he can sell music and entertain, but his ingratitude for his freedom and all that he has is mindblowing.
He has a lot to lose! I hope he straightens up his attitude, for his sake and for those who work for him.

What people are forgeting his Chris Browns talent. He sings and dances and has good music and for all the people who are still hating on him for what he did like 3 years ago is kinda stupid. Yes, what he did to Rihanna was wrong but people if you keep on bringing up the past how can anyone stay positive about the future. Would you want people to keep reminding you about you past mistakes? No. So we should just be happy for him and just let it go and move on atleast ADELE won let's be positive about this lol

I just love it when you say he made a "mistake". The "mistake" was made by the music industry by letting him back in so soon after. Mel Gibson is still in exile by the motion picture industry for what he said ! Mel was drunk and physically injured nobody. Chris turned her face in to hamburger ! A lot of people also bring up Michael Vick saying that even after what he did he is accepted back. True, he also spent time in prison for his crime. When Chris Brown TRULY pays his debt in prison then I will consider "moving on"

I'm just trying to stay positive and you can tell me all the negatives people have and it still won't change how I feel. I'm just looking at HIS TALENT, not what he did 3 years ago. What Mel Gibson said offended many people with his racist remarks not to mention how he was verbally abusive to his wife and I do believe that she was even abused by him. If you keep on bringing up old stuff then how do you think people can truly move on?

Chris Brown is an awesome artist. I think if anyone should be blamed it should be Rihanna because she hit him first and she got jealous over another girl texting him. Chris Brown totally deserved his award because it's about his singing and he can sing way better than half of the artists now. Miranda Lambert just wanted publicity! Everyone needs to mind their own business and leave Chris Brown ALONE!!!

Yeah he is still immature but if he won the grammy for his musical talent then so be it.
I can't fail you because i don't like your personal actions. I totally dislike him beating on his ex but that had nothing to do with his musical talent. Unless you can prove that his immaturity directly impacts his good music.

Well, you got one of them right. Michael Vick DID do the time for his crime in prison. Chris Brown on the other hand NEVER served any. So how has he "paid" his debt ?
  • Leslie cddjmikey March 12, 2012 14:22:07

I believe he served community service and a number of years of probation....whether or not his crime fit the sentence is another issue altogether.

Ok you knw what I don't agree with what he did either, but he did work really hard to get back on top so back the hell off.I am so sick of people being so damned judgemental.Stars are human too and they make mistakes just like the rest of us and should be recognized for their hard work.Instead of concentrating on Chris Brown and Rhianna so much everyone (Miranda Lambert and Will Wheaton)you should all concentrate on the fact that your most cherished & closest loved ones may be gone forever before you know it. I cannot believe that the most important thing you all can think about is some elses's buisness, gosh real damned important you guys!

Nice redirection ! Here is my problem with it. I love the way all of his defenders say he made a "mistake" and to get over it. A single slap, no matter how hard, in the heat of the moment during an argument I could call a mistake and after awhile maybe even forgive. HE BEAT HER REPEATEDLY TILL HER FACE LOOKED LIKE HAMBURGER !! That is not a mistake, that is being a cowardly little slime !!!!!!!!

Ok i will give you that one but all i am saying is 1. She has obviously forgiven him because they are working together on a song and 2. Was anyone else besides me, thinking about the young lady who had just loss of her mother less than 24 hours before.Forgive me if i happened to think that something that happened 2 yrs. Ago was trival compared to the death of a legend who also was beaten by her ex-husbandand who was her daughter's best friend

First, another of the surveys on this site are saying they "might" be working on a song together. In my opinion if she was to work with him and anything happened to her during the sessions I would feel a little sorry for her, but not much. She brought it on herself. Second, there are several other surveys on this site to talk about the other matter you brought up, why try to cross over the two when there is NOTHING in common between them ?

Because the question was about the g rammys he got and what is the differance.Chris hit Rhianna and Bobby hit Whitney a guy hit a girl. And I know what you are going to say but reguardless of the circumstances no woman deserves to be hit and evenyou would agree with that!!

Personally I would like to see Chris Brown dropped into one of those Octagon cages with Randy Couture or Chuck Liddel or Brock Lesner. Or better yet, ALL THREE ! Let them make the same "mistake" on him ! Probably won't be much left of him. Too bad, so sad. Bye bye.

Yes, I think he deserved the Grammy and I also think Miranda Lambert deserves to just STFU. The Grammy awards was about musical talent and merit. Past sins have nothing to do with it. If that were the case probably none of the winners deserved a Grammy and that also includes her.

Remember one sin is no greater than another, sin is sin. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Chris brown is little more than a kid and he deserves a second chance just as everyone does. He has done everything required of him to right his wrong as best he can. Yesterday is dead and gone. Let it rest, Rihanna has and she was the one who was wronged, not Miranda Lambert yet. .

I agree with you, the Grammy is about talent and he has that. What he needs is someone to teach him how to be a real man!
