Chris Brown Debuts New Single: Turn It Up or Turn It Down?

Chris Brown's image has recovered significantly since the 2009 controversy (which we're sure he doesn't want mentioned). His last album, "F.A.M.E.," landed him a couple of No. 1 positions on the charts and three Grammy nominations, thanks to his hit single "Yeah 3x." That album came out less than a year ago, but Brown is already prepping the world for his next record by releasing its first single, "Turn Up the Music."

The 22-year-old recording artist seems to be banking on the success of "Yeah 3x," because this new track is every bit as dance-friendly. It's filled with pulsing synths, pounding bass, vocal effects, chants, and squealing sequencers. It's a little bit reminiscent of the singles from Kanye West's "808s & Heartbreak," clearly made for the club.

The guy is talented, despite his personal life that I do not approve. But I don't think he's so stupid to go that way again since he had so much trouble getting his career back.

I like his songs, and ironically, they're much more positive and respectful to women than many others on the radio...

I'm not a huge fan after just one listen, but my theory is that after we've heard it ten hundred times, it will probably grow on folks a bit. I moreso clicked on "Turn it up" because, as human beings, we all make mistakes--especially at 19, the age he was at the time of the incident that just won't go away. Ironically, Rihanna has forgiven him but some of the commenters are acting like he personally attacked them or if they have proof that it wasn't just a one time incident. Let it go. Forgive that man just like you've forgiven yourself for the mistakes you've made. Forgive that man just like you've forgiven your parents, sibblings, and other relatives that have also done some not-so-great things in their lives. Forgive that man, for making a bad decision because WE ALL have made them at some point in our lives. The only reason we can sit on our high horses and point fingers at others who have made mistakes, is because our mistakes haven't been broadcast to the world.

Chris Browns image has been tarnished by men and women worldwide for his crime against R. however his music shouldnt be judged by the man he is, but only the talent. I dont like him as a person however the recognition is for his music only!

Everyone here must be either really old or just hate modern music lolol I personally like it and I'm almost positive that this song's gonna blow up. I like how pop music these days has sort of a electro-house feel to it, it's awesome and keeps me dancing.

Don't get me wrong now, I know that what he did was terribly wrong, but growing up with anger management problems sorta helped me understand his side of the story as well. Something obviously wasn't right that night. But in my opinion , he's made up for it. He's apologized practically 1,000 times for it. If it happens again, well than that's a different story. But if you're looking for ACTUAL wife beaters than take a trip to your local jail.

Which is where he SHOULD be ! Maybe you heard about his little tantrum after he was asked about it on an interview where he was trying to clean up his record ? After the interview he trashed his dressing room because he didn't like how it went. I don't mind giving a guy a second chance but he needs to feel some consequences of his actions. He should have been in exile for at LEAST 5 YEARS or maybe more.

All Mel Gibson did was say a few nasty remarks while drunk and he is still in exile in most circles after all this time ! I would think that beating up somebody, especially a girl, is considerably worse then a few mean spirited statements, wouldn't you ? No, I am NOT defending him, what he did was rotten and he should feel the consequences of his actions. Chris Brown has NOT !
