Matt Forte signed with his current team. Other professional athletes demand trades, hold out or enter the free agency for bigger contracts. Fans have loyalties to their teams for various reasons: because they live in the team's city, like the team's colors, like the team's players or want to follow a winning franchise.

MSN.FOXSPORTS.COM reports:
The Chicago Bears say they have agreed to a four-year contract with Pro Bowl running back Matt Forte.

..athletes and team owners are loyal to their high-dollar paychecks...and fans and struggling, strapped taxpayers get to build billion-dollar stadiums so the rich, spoiled atheletes will have a place to play...

There are a few athletes that are loyal but in the end the fans are entirely more loyal.

Of course the most glaring example was a guy who took his talents to South Beach.

I don't think ''fans'' are loyal. I prefer to say ''supporters'' simply because some people claim to like a particular team but when they're not doing very well, they hop onto the bandwagon of another team and suddenly that's their new favourite team. Supporters are the ones who stand by their team through thick and thin.

Most of the professional athletes in this day and age are only after the money. I understand that's how they make their living but at the same time, there seems to be a lack of genuine love for the sport in which they participate.

Differently the fans. The fans gets into the game a lot more than the athletes, and I mean real fans, you know those who don't go to the games sits there and does nothing, and talks about everything else but the sport itself , those who yells during the games and I don't mean during the whole game, those who makes signs, and shows everyone that they are a fan of that team, and those who claps to the beats, and celebrates with the team.
