Matt Forte signed with his current team. Other professional athletes demand trades, hold out or enter the free agency for bigger contracts. Fans have loyalties to their teams for various reasons: because they live in the team's city, like the team's colors, like the team's players or want to follow a winning franchise.

Most of the professional athletes in this day and age are only after the money. I understand that's how they make their living but at the same time, there seems to be a lack of genuine love for the sport in which they participate.
Athletes are loyal to the dollar, that's it.
