It couldn't beat "Ted," but "Magic Mike" was somewhat of a surprise hit earlier this month when it opened at No. 2 at the box office with $39.1 million. So it shouldn't come as a huge shock that Channing Tatum and co. are already working on a sequel.

"Yes, yes and yes!" Tatum, 32, told Glamour U.K. when asked if there would be a "Magic Mike 2." He continued, "We're working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger."
Despite its cheesiness, the Steven Soderbergh flick inspired by Tatum's own experience as a male stripper was a hit with critics. "Purest corn, 'Magic Mike' nonetheless has a human pulse and a sense of humor to go along with its willingness to entertain," The Chicago Tribune's Michael Phillips wrote.
More news for beefcake, er, Channing Tatum fans: He says he'd be willing to play Christian in the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" movie -- if his sexy wife Jenna Dewan could play Ana. "I'd only be allowed if my wife was Ana. She’s read the books so I don’t think she’d be impressed if she couldn’t be Ana!" he told Glamour.

I find it unfathomably sick that the entertainment of the public is based off of someone else's sad and disturbing history. Many strippers feel worthless and as if all they can ever be is a sex object, because that is how they were treated early on. It is the same scenario with porn stars. It is just sexual acting. Many of the acts performed are painful and the participants (usually the women in this case) often times only pretend to enjoy it and more so endure it/tolerate it.
I also realize that this is just a film but it is based on Channing Tatum's actual experience as a stripper. This film glamorizes something that is perceived to be fun and sexy, but in reality is often times the result of a broken spirit.
All that glitters is not gold.
Sorry for making this into such a big deal, but... yeah.
Don't get me wrong, men are beautiful. Love them. Adore them. Admire them. I just don't get the draw. Mindless drivel. Oh. That's the draw? No thanks.
