The announcement that Universal is making a movie based on the Hasbro game Candy Land has been met with some skeptical reactions. The movie's writers are doing their best to win over naysayers by claiming that the movie will be something like Lord of the Rings.
Are you intrigued or does this movie still seem like a ridiculous idea?
Jonathan Aibel, who also co-wrote Kung Fu Panda 2, revealed at yesterday’s Hollywood premiere that he and his partner, Glenn Berger, have very ambitious plans for this movie. He explained: “We envision it as Lord of The Rings, but set in a world of candy. We don’t see it as a movie based on a board game, although it has characters from that world and takes the idea of people finding themselves in a world that happens to be made entirely of candy where there are huge battles going on. We are going for real comedy, real action, and real emotions at stake.”

Even if it's not..there's plenty of people who grew up playing that game or their child may want to see it. I don't know how the story is going to be though.reply
