Not trying to sound egotistical, but I think I'm pretty, and quite funny. If anything, my most redeeming quality is my sense of humor.

If "pretty girls usually aren't funny," then Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a buffoon. Pretty, not-so-pretty, anybody can have a great sense of humor. Pretty, not-so-pretty - must society always judge everyone by their looks? And Joe, you're good looking, but you're definitely not a bombshell. Maybe you're not that 'funny' either.

Interesting question. There's something to be said about the "Ugly Duckling Syndrome" which hints at the idea that when one is physically attractive in her former years, she doesn't "need" to develop a personality (and a sense of humor along with it), and as a result, never learns how to be funny.
Of course this could apply for both men and women and maybe it does. However, being a straight male I notice a lack sense of humor and comedic timing more with women AND even more with women who are "pretty". It seems as if they generally take themselves too seriously to be funny. This is all in my personal experience but I would be interested in seeing what a more formal study might find.

I know a few funny beautiful girls/ women. Three of my friends are funny and beautiful.The beautiful Italian woman is one of them.

He obviously doesn't know what he is talking about.

Any looking person CAN be funny, but what I have noticed is that less attractive people are often more funny. In my case, for example, I had to use humour as a way of getting through school. I learned how to make jokes about myself before the others could get to me and make me feel worse. My dad was the same at school too. Good looking people often don't have to rely on being funny because they are more easily accepted based on how they look. That isn't to say that good looking people are never funny, just that because it's never been required of them to be accepted, many of them never developed the skill. I look like a hobbit on crack, so I had to develop it pretty quickly!
