Fiona Apple was 19 years old when she won a Grammy for her 1996 single "Criminal," but each album she's released since then has taken longer to come out. Her last album, "Extraordinary Machine," was released in 2005, and according to Spinner she hasn't even played a show outside of Los Angeles in five years. But she's finally coming out of the woodwork again, and in preparation for her next album, Apple performed an anticipated set at SXSW.

The set was predictably odd, eliciting surreal reviews. At one point she apparently yelled, "You're imaginary, you're all in my head! You're not real!" And it wasn't even a lyric. Her next album, modestly titled "The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do," is scheduled to come out some time this June. Do you think Fiona Apple can make a proper comeback?

Apple has never taken off cause of its goofy way of doing things. And it had always seemed to fail unless Jobs stepped in and well he can no longer step in. Heck 90% of the versions of Linux out there are a lot more user friendly than Apple is and use the computers hardware a lot better also and most are free.

i think so..shes extremely talented and always has been..shes always had strong opinions and a loyal fan base..also, her song paper bag has recently been featured in the movie bridesmaids which has sparked her image toward more fans..even if she doesn't hit the main crowds..her new album will still be awesome! :)

I'm not a big fan of her music, and I voted "No". Not because I don't enjoy her music, I think it's great for her fans that she's still putting out new albums and touring etc.. My " no" vote comes from the fact that the music industry is too busy promoting mindless watered down no talent Pop/Hip-Hop music to put any resources in helping promote an older once popular act.

if she could muster a hit like Criminal otherwise..sure, she can be like so many folksies/alternative i bought records from..1 big hit then survive..not bad! Sinead O'Connor, Eddie Brickell, (doesn't need to work married & made babies with old man living legend Paul Simon..ugh..Tracy Chapman, Natalie Imbruglia, Jewel, Nelly Furtado.. so many others i don't even remember their names! ONE hit..Alanis had 2 records but really the first was the biggest..Fiona is nuts though..probably was on drugs too...
