Don't blame the Biebs for becoming so popular! It's not his fault; it's science. At least, that's what neuroscientist Dr. Daniel Levitin says. His research shows that the preteen obsession with Justin Bieber, as well as similar obsessions from Elvis to the Beatles (not that he's comparing) are caused by simple rushes of dopamine, the same chemical that's released when an addict gets his fix.

But there's some frightening news to go along with that. His research also suggests high dopamine levels experienced during the teen years are formative, meaning Bieber has actually been hardwired into their brains. Fortunately, kids do eventually grow out of these things, but perhaps this explains why Justin Timberlake is so popualr. Do you think science can explain Bieber Fever?

the same question can be asked about Elvis P, andy williams, Tommy dorsey , bethoven, etc. . Todays teen is tomorrows parent who will say,' the music in my day/time sounded better than today's does". PLUS, whats pld is new again. Vinyl record albums are starting to make a comeback with todays"new artists".

When my sister was a teen she was in love with David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, Davy Jones of the Monkeys. She would go nuts over these guys. I never understood that. She would say, they are sooo cute. barf
