I wonder if she means "Pork Rinds" or "Cracklin's". I prefer Cracklins, home-style. A 3/4 inch cube of pork fat with skin attached, deep fried and rolled around in Tony Chachere's creole seasoning. Damn. Got me to missin' Louisiana now. :(
I too like Pig Skins lol !! I have eaten rattlesnake, alligator, chocolate covered termites & grasshoppers, earth worms, live shrimp, bear, reindeer, caribou, rabbits, turtle, frog legs, possum, javelina, armadillo and squirrel. I don't consider any of them weird except maybe the insects, have also eaten many organs, like brains, kidneys, & hearts, hate liver. Willing to try most things once.
Rattle snake IS very good!! I ate some type of pot sticker in Saudi Arabia and afterwards was told that it was dog meat.. Don't really know but it had a real rank-pungent flavor. People are strange through-out the world. Some cultures drink their own pee...umm tasty!! I consider weird to be something along the line of ear wax with garlic oil, onions and black pepper... When Obama talks, his breath leaves the smell of a dead economy!!
She likes fried pig skin because it's crunchy, salty, filling, & has zero carbohydrates, so if she's on a low-carb diet, she can eat as much of this snack as she wants.
Pork rinds yum ... and very common.. other foods that are "different " but good... Fried green tomatos....and mustard or collard greens with warm bacon grease ....
If fried pig skin is weird then yes. These things are sold in every super market and gas station I have EVER been to, this person asking the question must live under a rock. I don't think anyone who has tried it would say it was gross or weird, healthier than chips too. Generic fluffy cheaper ones are less flavorful, I like the more dense ones with some meat/fat still attached.
Cracklins aren't really that wierd, you can buy them anywhere, but they are better fresh. One person's wierd is another ones normal food. Still laugh about the time I introduced head cheese and tripe to some of my friends in school. Didn't tell them what it was until they ate it, mass exodus to the bathroom when they found out what it was.
Yes, but pork rinds are not weird. Millions of people eat them and they are very good. They are sold at all the grocery stores. They are very good on a low carb diet because they don't have any carbohydrates.
How tongue!
