After spending nine weeks at the top of the charts, Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" has finally been knocked down a notch... by Justin Bieber's pride and joy, Carly Rae Jepsen. Her hit song "Call Me Maybe" has managed to lodge itself into enough brains to launch it to the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 with 3.3 digital downloads and 108 million YouTube views.

Jepsen isn't new to the music industry, but she's certainly new to fame. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter got her start in 2007 when she got third place on "Canadian Idol," and released her debut album, "Tug of War," in 2008. But she didn't get much air time until fellow Canadian Justin Bieber started tweeting about her latest single, "Call Me Maybe," off her 2012 "Curiosity" EP. Sorry but EFF this song and EFF it all the way to the fiery brimstone pits beneath the earth of which it came. Along with "Boyfriend" by Justina Beaver.

THESE songs I hear every damn day on the radio, polluting the sound waves with their noise. Luckily with THIS song it's easy to make up joke lyrics to laugh at it while enduring it!

This new pop is VERY jacked up, the REAL kings of music are Bestie Boys, Guns n' roses, Led Zepplin, Möntley Cüre, and last but not least: Metallica. Rave if you agree with me about my opions about pop and one of the rock bands/ rap crew (Bestie Boys)

Song is really ridiculous, but it's still fun. I get why it's a hit and it's not a hit because people don't like it (COUGHCOUGHFRIDAYCOUGHCOUGH), it's a hit because it's catchy. It's what was meant to hit number one. Give a hot girl with a decent to amazing voice a mic and it becomes a hit.
