Bruno Mars Will Perform at the Upcoming Super Bowl: Awesome, or Meh?

The rumors have been confirmed. Singer Bruno Mars, who recently performed his song "Gorilla" at the VMAs, will be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. Super Bowl XLVIII takes place on February 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Bruno Mars

The singer has five months to prep for his performance, and has some big shoes to fill. Previous performances have gone to megastars such as Madonna and Beyonce. Does Mars have what it takes to wow such a giant crowd? His recent "Moonshine Jungle" tour might have been great preparation for a stadium performance.

Will Super Bowl fans be disappointed, or is this the perfect musician to perform? The half time show of the Super Bowl can really make or break an artist and their reputation. It is after all, the most viewed live sporting event in America. No pressure, Mr. Mars! If you don't think Bruno Mars is the right fit, then who is?

I'd rather have Madonna's little helpers give me the finger again. Bruno Mars is worse than Miley Cyrus and One Direction combined.

Who cares. I thought Van Halen would get the Super Bowl halftime show instead of a worthless artist.

While I agree that she butchered the national anthem, I don't like that you just called her a "chubby bitch." So, I'm just gonna walk away now, before I say something I regret.

I apologize for calling Christina Aguilera a "chubby bitch." Besides, she's slimmed down to fighting weight again, and she's looking pretty damn good lately! Sorry, I tend to get a little snarky at times. Mea culpa.

It's not bad news as far as I'm concerned, but I just don't feel excited about that. When it comes to football games, especially the Super Bowl, a lot of pop artists just don't fit my vision. But that's just my take on it.

My mom was Filipina, so I pretty much have to say this :D Seriously, I heard his music around the traffic reports while commuting and didn't turn it off, which is quite the endorsement from me. It probably kept me out of trouble from a road rage related "incident." ;-)

I really do like Bruno Mars, or at least I really want to. He has the voice of a just barely past pubescent angel. However, he makes some of the most bubblegum top 40 tracks into his most recognizable songs. If he can steer clear of doing songs like "Locked out of Heaven", "Just the Way You Are", and the like I might enjoy it.

On a side note, what kind of girl are you dating that someone would throw grenades at her? If it's that serious, she probably should be blown up, but that's just my humble opinion.

I never watch the Superbowl, American Football isn't a sport I enjoy or understand, so I don't watch it.

Not like it needs me, with it's millions of fans.

    I just prefer Football better.

It's not that I don't like him, but I think the Super Bowl halftime show should be reserved for bigger stars. I'd love to see them give a country artist a shot for once. Someone like Kenny Chesney who loves football and has been playing stadiums for years now.

Young against old and who has the power handle to control the music for the time fame of 2013 and hope they get the Right people to pump of the volume to watch the half time. What most people do is get a drink or food or something else and wait till half time is over and hope for Their Team To Win.
