Venture to your local 7-11 for the latest issue of Playboy, and the cover might not be as thrilling as you expect. It does feature the lovely Raquel Pomplun in a provocative pose, but she's not the focal point of the shot. Grammy-winning recording artist Bruno Mars is front and center, making him the 10th man ever to make the cover of the risque men's magazine.
According to USA Today, the only other men to make the cover of Playboy were: Peter Sellers (1964), Burt Reynolds (1979), Steve Martin (1980), Donald Trump (1990), Dan Aykroyd (1993), Jerry Seinfeld (1993), Leslie Nielsen (1996), Gene Simmons (1999), and Seth Rogen (2009). Not exactly the most handsome roster of all time, which is probably to the benefit of readers. Do you think Bruno Mars looks good on the cover? And should men even be on Playboy in the first place?

DER.
In general, it's a men's magazine! Most men don't want to see other men naked & that includes those that don't mind & even want to read stories about men (Think John Wayne!), interview's with men (that other men find interesting), etc.
...and that's actually why they put men on the cover! They know that a certain portion of their readership is not going to mind & some of them will prefer it, based on the specific celebrity that is on the cover. (The fact that they've had so few men, in the history of the magazine, appear on the cover is also an indication that it is not the most popular idea in the world.)
I have no objection to men looking at naked women in a tasteful way. Let them have that. Thinking of naked people as a bonus in magazines, why not feature some naked men in Cosmo? That magazine is 95% about sex anyway. Idris Elba can be the first centerfold. He’s the hotness.
